The Week in Local Radio
Nieces and
Nephews, Your Auntie was listening to local radio this past week.
And she was nauseous.
So was the team.
On Monday, Stevie
Thunder had the former Congresswoman, Nan his fan, on his show. It was just
basically a mutual admiration society with flowery compliments passed between
the two and Nan highlighting her accomplishments while she was in Congress.
Nan, some advice.
When you speak of your accomplishments, try to use real ones because these
things can be checked. Don’t use the imaginary accomplishments from your little
doll house in Chester.
On Tuesday, the
Mayor or Greenwood Lake was extolling the virtues of establishing casinos in
the area, especially the one proposed for Sterling Forest in Tuxedo. Why would
a self-proclaimed lover of the environment, one who has lauded the proximity of the
Adirondack trail as a benefit to his village, do that?
Later on Tuesday, we could not
listen to Karl’s babble-thon of slogans and clichés. What is really
scary is that people are going to vote for him and he just might get in due to
the KJ block vote!
On Wednesday, Jeff
Berkman, County Legislator, Democratic Caucus Leader and Chief RAT, had his new
friend, the FORMER Republican County Chair and Chief WEASEL on the air discussing
the Real Estate deal. The Orange County Government Center (OCGC).
RATS WELCOME!
THURSDAY OCTOBER 2ND 2014
VV AND OCGC
Now we have Billy
Big Bucks is inserting himself into the OC Government Center sale with his remark,
on Jeff’s radio show, that “Legislators should move the project forward”. So is
Billy the Realtor for this sale too?
Well, remember “Lunchtime
in Goshen”? Tuesday, August 26, 2014?
“High level OC. government officials
and a former Republican chairman lunching in Goshen. More to follow as to what
was on the menu…”
In attendance were Billy Deprospo,
Melissa Bonacic, Katie Bonelli AND Jeff Berkman!!! Perhaps the block of Limburger
cheese that Jeff had that day is enough to garner a vote for not only Valley
View but also the OC Government Center. Hey Jeff, does this mean you now
support Pistol Cam on every cop’s gun and Veterans with cavity free teeth if
they pay for Billy’s dental plan?
As an aside, remember
when Billy was involved with the sale of Valley View? And the Horace Nye
nursing home in Essex County NY? For you elected official neophytes, look at
this snippet of the Horace Nye report, when Billy Big Bucks was asked by Legislator
Scozzafava:
SCOZZAFAVA: “I know we need a new nursing home, I know
we need a new facility. If you can bring those resources where the county can
build a state of the art facility, that is great. My question is - it has to be
advantageous to your company for you to go in and take over operation of that
nursing home, you are not doing that out of the goodness of your heart? There
has to be some financial incentive there.”
DEPROSPO: “Just so you know, it is like the 800 pound
gorilla in the room - one of the things that we do at the end of the day is we
like to make money, there is no secret about that, okay.”
(If any of you have not read the Horace Nye Report, start

)
Remember this? (From the Chronicle and Warwick Advertiser)
Are the few of you
out there who did not see what the “big deal” is about selling Valley View, starting
to understand that this issue is more than just the simple sale of a County nursing
home? (Which, IN THIS CASE, SHOULD NOT BE DONE!) It is about:
HIDDEN AGENDAS
MONEYMAKING
SCHEMES
LYING ELECTED
OFFICIALS
RUNNING THE
FACILITY “TO THE GROUND” SO A FRIEND CAN BUY IT CHEAP (See above chart)
DISPLACING
RESIDENTS WHO CANNOT DEFEND THEMSELVES
BUSTING UNIONS
SUBVERTING THE
ORIGINAL MISSION OF THE HOME
(Land donated to the County for this purpose, which,
hypocritically is cited in the agenda item 25, this coming Thursday Oct 2nd
2014)
“… since the early 1800s,
the County of Orange has been responsible for
providing food, shelter and a final resting place for the young and old who
were indigent and those suffering from mental disorders. The facility, located
on Quarry Road in the Town of Goshen, was once known as the “Poor House,” “County
House” or the “Farm, providing respite, education and resources to those in
need.” Today, the complex has evolved into a public nursing home, a housing
complex, buildings for the operations of the Department of Social Services and
County Clerk as well the original cemetery which dates back to the early 1800s…”
AND GENERALLY, DISAPPOINTING TAXPAYERS AND GETTING US
ANGRY.
OK, so back to
this week in local radio.
By Thursday,
Auntie did not have the stomach to listen to the “Three Amigos”, three county legislators
Paul Ruszkiewicz, Barry J. Cheney and John S. Vero; all three who campaigned on
keeping Valley View County-owned and all three have broken their campaign
promises.
You know, we would
have had more respect for you if you just said that you think it is a good idea
to sell Valley View. But why would you do that and ruin your chance of getting elected?
Yes, that’s right, you knew then (and now- hence the fear of a public
referendum in the matter) that the popular opinion SUPPORTS KEEPING VALLEY VIEW
COUNTY OWNED.
On Friday, Auntie
did not listen to the local radio.
She ran out of
Tums.
Notice:
The Orange County Legislature is voting on two key issues this Thursday October 2nd at 3:30pm. and Auntie STRONGLY encourages you to be there. Valley View AND the Orange County Government Center are on the menu.
And look for more prior to the meeting right here on the site, Auntie is going to have another BIG SURPRISE for you.
5 Comments:
Friday's local radio show was pre-recorded I believe with OCL's Myrna Kemnitz and Roseanne Sullivan who did a fine job on defending the virtues of Valley View. However, after reading this, I too need a bottle of Tums, unless you Auntie have depleted the market in OC.
The Rats are running around in the dark -- but what has the one Rat been promised to get his vote??
The DMV in middletown??
His BS college in Middletown getting some VV action???
A state Senate seat??
A run at a Congress seat???
Or will he just sell out for a BIG PIECE OF CHEESE??????
Nan had accomplishments ... what were those ... apart from co-hosting 2 job fairs???? The PoJo Editorial Board slammed her 2 years ago for having no tangible accomplishments in behalf of the district.

Read the latest from the Mid-Hudson News. Berkman has come up with a really good solution. Xanax will be given at the door, forget the tums.
