"Neuhaus unveils new campaign pledge: 1,000 jobs in 1,000 days" (from the midhudsonneus.com Friday September 27, 2013; County press releases etc.)
Sounds like a plan, right?
Look again at this snazzy campaign pledge. It means that he will create 1000 jobs in 2.7 years!!!
That's right, in a county of over 360,000 people, he will create jobs equal to less than 1% of the population. Off course, the population numbers reflects those not eligible for the workforce, such as children and seniors but take a look at the THRecord last Wednesday, the 24th, a news brief on page 38.
In the news brief, Mr Nani reports that the the unemployment rate for Orange was 5.3% last month
compared to 6.1% in November 2013, which may lead you to think that Orange County
is on the road to more JOBS JOBS JOBS!!!
However, when you look at the actual
numbers:
"Orange County had 159,500 employed people last month,
compared to 162,800 in November 2013."
This could be due to more people leaving the workforce for
various reasons: retired, gave up etc, so the percentages get skewed because those people are no longer included in the tally. That's why you need to look at the actual numbers for the real story.
So take a good look at campaign promises, follow them during the candidates term of office, if they win and especially do a fact check just prior to election time.
Some politicians may be so misguided that they would actually seek re-election.
Some politicans may be so misguided to think they will actually finish their term.
Look, there’s a pipeline over his head!
The man with a million catch phrases but nothing to actually show for anything.
ReplyDeleteSome other promises:
Government center shovel in the ground within six months.
Condemn the Kiryas Joel water pipeline and fight annexation (I trust Langdon Chapman to take the lead on this)
Work with both parties. Ha! County has never been more divided. He's living up to his "bloody and beat up" reputation: http://www.recordonline.com/article/20111006/NEWS/110060319/0/SEARCH
Now, he was for the sales tax increase before he was against it! He's like a crying baby that had his toys taken away because he didn't get his way on Valley View.
He's creating jobs alright, lots of jobs for his political cronies in county government.
If he had any dignity, he'd resign.
STEVE NEUHAUS: DONE IN ONE
ReplyDeleteLets also remember his promise (which he mailed to me and other seniors before the election) to work to run Valley View better so we could keep it ... as far as anyone can see, he HAS NEVER spent even one day doing that -- only working to SELL Valley View from day one in office!!!
ReplyDeleteHe should resign to "spend more time with his family"
ReplyDeleteThe people in Orange County will reelect him and his loser friends..... Davy, Karl...... the list just expands with his friends in office
