Hapless Hoovler and Steve’s Shell Game

Dear Nieces and Nephews, In the world of carnivals there are booths and all the booths are rigged. “Hey, Rube!” “Hey, Rube!” they shout from the booths. (“Rube” is a code to other vendors that they "...have a dope here.")

In the world of carnivals, they do let some win to make it look good.

Also there are Shills who knows how to beat the rigged games so they appear to have “won”.

All Inducements to play the game.

In this carnival, Langdon Chapman and Dain Pascocello are there behind the curtain collecting the “take” while Neuhaus (aka “Stevie Thunder”)  is yelling “Hey, Rube!”

Amongst the carnival music, cotton candy and sausage and peppers, a voice is heard above the din, yelling in earnest: “Seize ‘em all, seize ‘em all! We must stop the drug trade!”

After a trip to the newhouse of horrors, the same voice could be heard decrying what he said before, now yelling “Seize nothing!” Poor Hoovler, he thought he was doing the right thing in Steve’s shell game but he did not pick the right shell. And when Hoovler left the carnival with Steve, he had a back full of porcupine quills and a sign on his back saying ”rube”. (Coincidentally, the same word tattooed on his arm after a visit to Steve’s tattoo booth.)

Hapless Hoovler did not get the brass ring when he was on the Stevie political merry- go-round.

Who the heck are the real rubes in this carnival? The taxpayers, the legislators or the DA?

      Hapless Hoovler

Side Note: Your Auntie does advise to keep an eye on John Melville, former Acting Superintendent New York State Police/former Field commander NYSP, who may have just gotten the brass ring.

You may recall, he was formerly associated with Hoolver’s office.

  2. I am a long time republican but republicans to the like of Neuhaus and Brabenec disgust me, almost enough for me to be ashamed to be registered as a republican. If it were not the few, very few honorable local republicans left, I would change my party affiliation.

I expected more from Hoovler, he is independently elected, Newhaus only controls the purse strings. The honeymoon is over, get a set Dave and stand up to him

Bravo to Bresca for standing up to Newhaus and bravo to Simmons for standing up to Jones. Maybe these is some hope to salvage the party. If not, with credible candidates, the democrats will rule.

Melville is a respected cop. Hope he does not dirty himself up by affiliating with that crew.

  5. Excellent editorial in Record on 1/13 and 1/14 about County Legislature and Executive. I have not heard one person who voted for Neuhaus congratulate themselves on doing so. In fact, they are furious that they fell for his PR campaign.
One of the biggest deceptions was the claim by many in their own campaign literature about keeping Valley View in County hands.

And let's not forgot who help to run Valley View into the ground---the same person who ran the County budget into such a mess and who was just appointed to the IDA which gives away tax monies. The Good Ole Boys Club is alive and well in Orange County as the same politicians get recycled into musical political seats.
