Doings in Depewville

Dear Nieces and Nephews,

Election day is almost upon us and Danny has been busy in The Town of Wallkill. Dan is running for another term as Town Supervisor and he is getting the media to pay attention. Why even yesterday, Danny was boasting of the state’s acceptance of his financial plan, done by eliminating the full time position associated with their Dial a bus program (contracting with Warwick who must be doing it for much less than a paid employee) and filling a highway department position with a former employee of the town owned and operated golf course which is now privately operated. (Somehow that saved $96K).
 

Depewville is the land of get rich quick schemes: Selling street signs, unrealized pot farms and white water parks. It is also the land of the Danny’s dreams, questionable motives and the police chief’s discrimination and sexual harassment lawsuits. *

Danny did have a few good accomplishments, such as protecting the Shawangunk Kill and completing the tunnel under Rt. 17 that connects Orange Plaza and the Galleria.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel for Wallkill? Or is it this: 

    

Remember, Dan, when he was in the legislature, proposed creating a “water loop” or expanded water district with the Town of Mamakating and Village of Bloomingburg in Sullivan County, just next door.The water district he proposed would accommodate 3-4 times the population of the time. Did he know something? Was there a plan? Shalom Lamm’s new development, which is being marketed only to Satmars, will more than double the population of the Village of Bloominigburg. (That water expansion sure would have helped the project. Maybe Shalom told Dan of his plans when he was working for Shalom at the airport?}

Danny is a well-entrenched republican Good ol’ boy looking to establish, among other things. A Water Park in the Town of Wallkill.

DAN SAID: “We were told directly by them when they came out here was that the only reason why they came to the town of Wallkill here in Orange County New York was because us going out there put us on the map with them. They are planning over the next couple of years to do expansion. We put Orange County on the map by taking Wallkill out to them and they were very pleased to come out our ways and very pleased with the site once they were able to have boots on the ground and see what we were telling them physically”

Perhaps he should consult with Liliana Trafficante of “Go Ocean Water Park“  fame. He can reach her at the Federal Penitentiary for Women, where she is serving her lengthy sentence. 

Mayhap Shalom Lamm, who wanted to establish a water park in Sullivan, could help power Dan’s Water Park through Ambit Energy. This should be easy, since Shalom is listed as an Executive Consultant and Dan was a Team Leader for Ambit, which is under investigation by the PSC’’s Consumer Advocate. Dan Depew, former employee of Mr. Lamm at the Wurtsboro Airport; associated with Mr. Lamm in Ambit energy and purveyor of water districts that would benefit Mr. Lamm’s new development in Bloomingburg, (which has had their fair share of visits by the Feds) has us wondering what their relationship is today?

You should wonder too.

*Allegations that the Chief engaged in sexual harassment of female police officers, the very activity he was supposed to curtail (Please see Aunties post on Sunday, April 5, 2015)

“But in May, (2002) the Town Board found out that Hertman failed his civil service test, where 21 other men passed, including two Wallkill sergeants. http://www.recordonline.com/article/20020726/News/307269999 Because of this, Hertman was appointed for one year supposedly. (He is still Chief in 2015)”

Recently, Danny and the Wallkill Town Board approved a promotion for police officer to Sgt. They passed over female and minority candidates to promote a non-minority with a lesser ranking on the civil service list. Please note that the Chief recommends but the Town Supervisor and Board approve the promotion.
