Bloomingkill

Dear Nieces and Nephews

Shalom Lamm has been in the news. Quite a bit lately.

According to the Executive Summary for Chestnut Ridge, it was intended to be a Hasidic community all along.

Marketing and selling to one religious group violates State and Federal Law. Not nice, Shalom. And please don’t give us the nonsense that anyone can buy there.

With the sometimes called “explosive”” and other times “exponential” growth that will occur there, they are surely going to need water.

And apparently, Mr. Lamm has known for a long time. He knew, back when Dan Depew, (his employee at the Wurtsboro Airport and his colleague at AMBIT Energy), was in the OC Legislature and presented a water expansion idea that would cross county lines and supply much more water than needed for the 400-500 residents of Bloomingburg at the time.

If you recall, Auntie addressed this issue last October.

Remember, Dan, when he was in the legislature, proposed creating a “water loop” or expanded water district with the Town of Mamakating and Village of Bloomingburg in Sullivan County, just next door. The water district he proposed would accommodate 3-4 times the population of the time. Did he know something? Was there a plan? Shalom Lamm’s new development, which is being marketed only to Satmars, will more than double the population of the Village of Bloomingburg. (That water expansion sure would have helped the project. Maybe Shalom told Dan of his plans when he was working for Shalom at the airport?}

WHAT did Dan Depew know about this establishment of this new Satmar community and WHEN did he know it?

In the executive summary for Chestnut Ridge, the developers brag about buying land contiguous to the currently owned property, the strategy is to “quietly” acquire large swaths of undeveloped land adjacent to the currently owned property or nearby and then expand the community by developing later or annexing and developing later.

What parcel is next? Well, the Town-owned Korn’s Campground is a 75 acre plot less than a half mile away, just over the Shawanagunk kill. It was purchased by the Town of Wallkill aka Depew last year because Danny wanted the town to be in the camping business; certainly not to sell it to any developers.

So it couldn’t be that parcel., could it? Nah!

less than a half mile away from Chestnut Ridge

And the Town of Dan Depew recently hired a contractor, Bangor Abatement Services Inc. of Bangor Maine, to operate the campground and possibly expand it in the future! http://www.midhudsonnews.com/News/2016/March/21/TWkl_Korn_purchase-21Mar16.html

Bangor Abatement Services. Abatement? As in asbestos abatement? To operate a campground? https://app.oneteam.net/Profile/bangor-abatement-inc-30NC6#details

As you can see following the above link, the services provided by Bangor Abatement Services involve mostly remediation, remodeling, janitorial and security services.

WHY would you hire them to operate a campground?

Unless you wanted to remove asbestos from old structures, engage in lead abatement or provide “general government support” in getting a parcel of land ready for sale or for “expansion”.

Nowhere does it mention experience with managing campgrounds. But Bangor Abatement is near a golf course, maybe that’s it.

We look forward to discussing this parcel again after the camping season.

What do you say? Dan Depew, Supervisor of the Town of Wallkill

  1. If ever there was a need for an outside agency to step in and take a look see, it's time for it now.

  3. No wonder Dan wanted a water park. How can Depew be now trusted to serve in office. Be careful who your friends are Daniel but I guess the game was more important than the oath you took to serve your constituents and not just friends of Lamm. Wonder how many more politicos are involved in the secret plans and all the money they intended to scam.

And in this article it states as "as an extra added bonus Senator John Bonacic was able to secure a grant for $75K for a secluded park for children. (so is that why the Senator was not able to meet with certain members who invited him to attend their meeting, because it would not be in his best interest of 'friends').

We felt that it was in our strategic interests to bind that property for the public for future generations.

*for all of you interested in securing a reservation for the campgrounds, opening day was slated for May 1st.

  10. Unless there is some kind of conservation easement or state designation, the campground is not bound to the public for future generations. It is town property and can be sold at any time the town board votes to do so.
    What a crock!

  12. Dan Depew is made of teflon, just like the husband of a current presidential candidate. He will come out of this smelling like a rose, not like his name.

  13. Amazing how all his Councilmen bailed on him this year, all but the one who votes against him. Wonder what they knew???

  16. Don't kid yourself. Where is the FBI when Cuomo accepted $ for vetoing a bill for KJ? Where was the FBI when KJ perpetrated voter fraud years ago? New York is one of most corrupt states in America. Where is the IRS when cash is exchanged in the photo and diamond district in NYC thus avoiding millions in taxes.
I was told several years ago by an employee in KJ that their lawyer is the same lawyer that represents our congress. They buy our politicians and put them in their pockets to do their bidding privately and tell them they can criticize KJ in public. Ask me if I really think things will change--not a chance!
