"Salaries to be Buoyed While Steve is Deployed" or "Comfortable Compensation"

Dear Nieces and Nephews

On Monday, the Personnel and Compensation committee of the OC Legislature will be adding certain “Newly Created” positions in OC government to the list of personnel that must comply with the Ethics and Disclosure Law. They will do so by deleting the current list and adopting an amended list in it’s place.

As part of the additions, directly reporting to the County Executive, are two people well known in Orange County and FOS. 

The New Director of Economic Development will be Bill Fiorvanti, cheerleader/lobbyist for Legoland! and:

Fioravanti, a City of Newburgh resident, most recently served as the Orange County Partnership’s Director of Business Attraction for more than four years. His responsibilities included attracting small businesses and large corporations to the County, creating jobs and investment in several municipalities. Fioravanti collaborated with a variety of agencies and officials at the local, state and federal levels.

The New Director of Tourism is Amanda Dana, another Legoland advocate!

Dana, a Town of Wallkill resident, previously served as the Orange County Partnership’s Director of Business Retention and Expansion. Her responsibilities included working closely with some of the region’s leading employers, including tourism destinations, to attract companies to Orange County. Dana’s clients included Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, The Castle Fun Center in Chester, Pratt & Whitney and McKesson.

As you can see, both are alumni of the Orange County Partnership and served under the “Everything is AWESOME!” Maureen Halahan!

Looks like her buddy Steve saved two of her “peeps” while OCP undergoes investigation.

Maybe he can give her a job too. She can be Bill's Executive Secretary!

Director of Economic Development $100,000/yr Salary; Executive Secretary/ Administrative Asst. to Director ED $48,491.00/yr

Director of Tourism $85,000/yr

Wow!

This started us thinking about other positions in the “Office of the County Executive” portion of the budget, so we looked further.

 

(in red, the new positions reporting directly to the CE.)

In the 2018-2019 budget under “Division of Central Services” the Assistant to the County executive  will receive $90,000 (an increase in yearly salary over $18,000 or 25% ) compared to Steve’s “Confidential Secretary” who will earn $64,593, an increase of $3366 or 5.47%. 

We started thinking about it even more! We looked for known Friends of Steve (FOS) to see what their salary increases are for the coming year.

For the Undersheriff, an increase in line 56900 to $147,161/yr up $22,410 or 18% (The Sheriff of Team Orange is FOS-)

At the board of elections, the Deputy Commissioner Board of Elections salary increases in line 562560 of the budget, to $138,000 up $17,238 or 14.27% while the two Commissioners receive a 2.4% or $4720 increase to $176,340.

The Deputy Commissioner is the Chair of the Orange County Republican Party and longtime Friend of Steve (back to their "Young Republican Days")

When was the last time those of you working in the “private sector” received such increases?

PS He’s back! Rumor has it that the new position: Associate Account Clerk II under “General Services” $43,000/yr was created for none other than Carmen Dubaldi! (Only 43K? well, he was in prison…) Remember, Carmen was employed by Orange County prior to his conviction for the embezzlement of campaign funds.

But, it gets better! The other rumor is that Carmen Dubaldi of New Windsor will be the new Chief of Staff for New Windsor, since Colin Schmitt has vacated the position. After all, Carmen was supported by the “Green Machine” heavily in the past, even during some of his less than stellar moments. And both Carmen and Colin had worked for Annie Rabbitt, the Orange County Clerk when she was in the NYS Assembly.

Remember, these are just rumors. Rumors based on educated guesses from our sources.
