Our County Executive, STEVE SAID Re: his administration: “is in full budget mode” Re; layoffs: “I can’t take that off the table, We have eliminated positions that are not filled but are funded. We are still going to move forward.”

Is this an explanation? No, and If your Auntie hears that expression: “…Move forward” one more time, her head will explode! What does that mean? “Oops, better do something else quickly”? or “Let’s not concentrate on what YOU want to discuss, let’s move forward”?

The Ulster County Legislature's attorney has sent a letter to the body's former counsel, Langdon Chapman, telling him to stop bad mouthing the county's sole casino prospect, the Nevele.

LANGDON  CHAPMAN, Orange County Attorney SAID:"He's grasping at straws. The casino proposals in Orange and Sullivan County are right on the interstate and can generate the most revenue, and as a result can score higher, with Orange, because of geography, being the best. It's not a legal matter; it's a fact."
