SEIZE THE DAY! 6PM at the Emergency Services Center

Dear Nieces and Nephews, later today, there is a public hearing regarding the OC Government Center Building AND the asset forfeiture law. In regards to the OCGC, we do not need to spend $74 Million on top of the millions we gave to Clark Patterson Lee (for what?). Note to Orange County officials: If you have an opportunity to do so, sell it and be done!

The hearing today is also in regard to the Asset Forfeiture Local Law that will supposedly deter all drug use because people addicted to drugs will miraculously decide not to do them anymore if you threaten to take their car.

Let's face it, it is NOT a deterrent.

Also, seizing (seize:to take hold of suddenly or forcibly; grasp: dictionary.com) assets may not be as lucrative as our County DA assumed.

On the Federal level, the DOJ presents a report to Congress regarding the expenditures and revenues of Seizing Assets. Take a look.
