AMBIT GAMBIT

Dear Nieces and Nephews, Some of you have been ripped off. Some of you may have or had your energy needs met by a company called AMBIT.  An article from earlier this week relays the following:

New York launches probe of energy provider Ambit

Excerpts:
The commission received 448 consumer complaints about Ambit last year, which is roughly double the number of any other company. Another 289 complaints were received through the end of March this year — again, far more than any other energy service company, or ESCO.

Ambit is multi-level marketer that has built an ever-changing network of independent consultants that sell electricity and natural gas to consumers. The company was cooperating with the inquiry, the PSC said.

The investigation is the first to be undertaken by the PSC's Consumer Advocate, a newly created post.

The agency urged Ambit customers who believe they were overcharged or otherwise taken advantage of to file a complaint by going to www.dps.ny.gov/Consumer_Complaints.html or calling (800) 342-3377.

and last month:

New Yorkers scammed by Dallas-based Ambit Energy

Excerpts:

In 2014 alone, the New York Public Service Commission received 450 complaints about Ambit, primarily from people whose guaranteed savings plan was rolled over to a plan that did not guarantee savings at the end of the contract term.

"Wow, Auntie" you say "Thanks for the Public Service announcement, but how has this impacted Orange County?"  In two ways, the first being that there are some people in Orange County that use or have used Ambit services and the secondly, by who is involved.
"Who is that Auntie?"

and don't forget

Nieces and Nephews in neighboring Mamakating and Bloomingburg, do you think Danny boy is addressing your concerns when he suggests inter-municipal and inter-county water and sewer districts and shared services?

Or is he serving a former employer, recent business associate and developer of "Chestnut Ridge" high density housing?

Don't let them pull your chain.

Did they sell this to anyone in Wallkill? If so, wouldn't it be a conflict of interest?
