The Senator And The Sycophant

Dear Nieces and Nephews, Thursday, Senator Larkin broke his silence regarding Carmen Dubaldi.

It is more than likely that, the Ulster County District Attorney will impanel a grand jury which  has the strong possibility of an indictment for Carmen Dubaldi, former campaign committee treasurer for Senator Larkin and others. The fact is that Senator Larkin and his staff discovered campaign funds had been misappropriated. He certainly will be subpoenaed as a witness in The People v. Dubaldi.

It is Auntie’s opinion that subpoenas will be as prevalent as flakes in a snowstorm.

There is an old adage “Silence is Golden” but in this case, silence is “taking the fifth.”

Many have conflicts because of their dealings with Dubaldi and his minions. Those "conflicted" folk include William Deprospo, former OC Republican Chairman and Edward Diana, former OC Executive. Both were subpoenaed by the Committee chaired by Legislator (at the time) Donnery and Billy and Eddie just ignored the subpoena(s).

But they cannot ignore a judicial subpoena.

They can always “take the 5th”, get use immunity* or maybe even full immunity.

Certainly, Senator Larkin’s Staff members will be subpoenaed as well.Congratulations to Senator Larkin for being so forthright!  We certainly understand the need for delaying your response due to the investigation.
Let’s see if Rabbitt, Brescia and Diana follow in the Senator’s footprints.

There will be no "mending fences" here...

And as far as silence, THR**, until yesterday, we were wondering about yours...

And don't forget, Saturday is New Windsor Community Day at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park, where your elected officials and candidates are sure to be "pressing the flesh". Ask them about their associations with Carmen Dubaldi. Listen for the back-pedaling!!!

*Use immunity allows the state or federal government to prosecute a witness using evidence obtained independently of the witness's immunized testimony. The state or federal government is prohibited from derivative use of immunized testimony for the prosecution of the immunized witness. The state or federal government must prove that the evidence is based upon an independent and legitimate source in order to prosecute the immunized witness. The state or federal government has to prove that the evidence came from a legitimate source independent from the compelled testimony.

You're all going to be very disappointed when this does not go where you think it is going. Your dreams of a celebrity trial where top OC politicos are dragged in to testify is not going to happen. Dubaldi will be offered a plea, and if he is wise he will take it. This never goes to trial. This will be no different than the Michael Denardo case in the Town of Shawangunk Fire Dist.

Does Dubaldi get a plea for nothing? Isn't he the small fish that gives up information that leads to the bigger fish?

Preet may step in as the Dubaldi corruption is as deep as the ocean . The attacks he and others orchestrated against Bonnie Brennan may be the key.

Larkin is not the victim as he was quoted in the th-r -
"It is sad and reprehensible that some people would attempt to make political gains from the victim of a crime," Larkin said.

the people who donated to his campaign fund are the victims. how these funds are spent is anyone's guess.
it also appears Dubaldi's double dipping (as an unscrupulous republican operative and county employee) similar to Larkin's double dipping. the only difference is one's officially retired and the other isn't.
what else has Dubaldi been doing on our dime?
the bottom line: trusting citizens' money is squandered away again and again by unscrupulous officials who go unchecked, unsupervised and unaudited.

People seem to forget that Larkin (and Nancy Calhoun- FORMER assemblywoman and lets hope it stays that way-God forbid that do-nothing parasite gets back in) both "Retired" from the Senate and Assembly and then took the oath of office again the next day, so they can collect the salary AND pension DOUBLE DIPPING NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. Is it any wonder that NY is in a financial mess? Between these and the other state legislators that have been removed from office or made to resign, we have FEW good legislators in the State Capital (unless someone thinks Karl Brabenec is a rocket scientist) with any intelligence at all.
Stop the pillage and plundering of Albany!!!!

Carmen may plead out and not give anyone up in the criminal case and if he gets away with it just watch how cocky all of those in hiding will become, it will be certifiably corrupt in OC!!! And then nothing will happen with the civil suit with the former female town board member whose post domestic abuse picture was used by Dubaldi.
How sad for us OC citizens!!!

Who is he kidding? Larkin sure knows how to play this, like he didn't know Carmen's MO before he became a "victim" "Poor little me"
And what political gains is he talking about?
This opinion editorial from the THR criticizing the use of THE photo as an underhanded gesture forgets to point out where that particular campaign as was advertised.

Betty Ann Yarus from NW Dems was on the radio today and she was very not afraid to speak to the Dubaldi issue including the despicable behavior against Bonnie! Go Betty!
