With all of the election fanfare on the local level do not forget that we also have two candidates for the NYS Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District, of which Orange County is a part. (Also one candidate for County Court; one for Middletown City Court)

The Supreme Court is an important position requiring a certain "legal temperament" and it is imperative that we elect the right one.

Introduction

Supreme Court has unlimited, original jurisdiction, but generally hears cases that are outside of the jurisdiction of other courts.
Its caseload includes the following:
Civil matters beyond the monetary limits of the lower courts’ jurisdiction; Divorce, separation and annulment proceedings; Equity suits, such as mortgage foreclosures and injunctions.
