Dear Nieces and Nephews
We are serving up info and opinion about two of Orange County's infamous, Ken Del Vecchio and Carmen Dubaldi. One is (in our opinion) a snake-oil salesman and the other is definitely a thief.
Kenny
This Tuesday June 28th, Republican voters in the
18th Congressional District go to the polls to choose who will represent
them in the General Election in November. They may choose from Kenneth Del
Vechhio (yes that one, from the Sobroken Film Festival) and Phil Oliva, who
works for Westchester County Executive, Rob Astorino. They may also write-in a
name. (Watch for “Mickey Mouse” as a big runner-up).
In the typical pattern of political activity, these Republican
voters have been inundated with political flyers, lauding the reasons why one
should vote for a particular candidate. We wouldn’t even comment on these but
Kenny’s flyers are just too funny. (And don’t forget to watch his video on his
website for a few laughs. Try not to be jealous!)
Kenny, (yes, Kenny) highlights Phil Oliva’s background on
his own campaign flyer. Phil is a former assistant to a congressman, currently
works as an aide to a County Executive and is a former speech writer for
Governor Pataki. He owns a political
consulting company.
Kenny puts forth all of his qualifications and these include
the ones that Auntie and the Team have proven to be blatantly false such as he
is a great “filmmaker/famous author”. He
also emphasizes that he is not a political insider.
As far as goals. Mr. Oliva states them clearly (but does not
indicate exactly “how”) and includes:
Agree or not, he does give you an idea of what he is about.
Kenny lists as his goals the UN-achievable (in one term -because if for
some insane reason he was elected he would only do one term) and the nebulous to the utterly fantastic:
END THE IRS,
PROTECTING LIFE,
SAYING NO TO POLITICAL INSIDERS
DESTROYING THE TERRORISTS
Maybe Kenny is better suited to being the Ringmaster at the
circus.
Congressman Maloney must be laughing his head off. And his team is probably praying for Kenny to win, that way Mr. Maloney will definitely get re-elected.
Carmen
In keeping with the tradition of the bizarre her in Orange County
NY we present the following:
Disregard. The court says Dubaldi's sentencing has
been postponed - again. No new date has been set.
The Courts Website still indicates June 27th 2016
It is not unusual in the judicial system, that sentencing is
postponed and postponed again, usually when the defendant is cooperating
with the authorities to reduce his sentence.
It appears suspicious when postponements have gone on since
earlier this year. Just how much is Carmen saying?
The case is clear cut:
He stole
He made restitution
And now is bouncing from court date to court date for sentencing.
“Justice delayed is
justice denied” (MLK) for us in Orange County
Sing Carmen sing!
But let’s be done with it.
If it's true as you say "that sentencing is postponed and postponed again, usually when the defendant is cooperating with the authorities to reduce his sentence" This crook must be singing an entire opera all by himself.
ReplyDeleteAny appearance - whether it's an arraignment, deposition, trial or sentencing - can be delayed for any reason... more often than not it's because one of the lawyers is constipated... I wouldn't read anything more in to it then the wheels of the judiciary are square not round.
ReplyDelete"He stole
ReplyDeleteHe got caught and plead guilty
He made restitution"
And now it's time to do some time
For the crime
And or sing a tune
