Elections, you can't please everyone

Dear Nieces and Nephews

While overall, it appears that it was a good year to be a Republican (considering US Senate, US Congress nationwide, NYS Senate, overall) we did have some different trends in a few races. Despite the Republican wave, the following Democrats were re-elected into office.

US Senate for NY Charles Schumer defeated Republican Wendy Long (Statewide)
US Congress 19th District Sean Patrick Maloney  defeated Republican Phil Oliva (OC)

In or around Orange County:
NYS 99th Assembly District James Skoufis-Dem (defeated Republican Colin Schmitt)
NYS 100th Assembly District Aileen Gunther Dem (unopposed)
NYS 103rd Assembly District Kevin Cahill Dem (defeated Conservative Jack Hayes)
NYS 104th Assembly District Frank Skartados Dem (defeated Conservative William Banuchi)
(The NYS Assembly Majority Party is still the Democratic Party)

and to the local level such as:
Cornwall Town Justice Lynn Beesecker, opposed by Republican Michael O'Connor.

These Democratic Party members are all incumbents.

While many are waking up from their dreams come true or their worst nightmare, we must now ask these elected officials to skip the partisan politics and start working together. Because one thing this election season has shown, we are tired of business as usual. Especially in NY with the "Upstate v. Downstate" mentality,

Don't say your Auntie didn't warn you.

Did everyone in both assembly districts get the same negative flyers in the mail?
