Goshen Hacked and the People Get Whacked

Dear Nieces and Nephews

The Federal Government and the Democratic Party have nothing on the Town of Goshen! The Town has been hacked! And rumour has it that the part of Goshen’s website hacked had to do with LEGOLAND.

The Town’s website was hacked; information was compromised, so the Goshen Board decided to extend the deadline for public comment on the project to January 17th. Sounds reasonable, people were not able to access information on the project to use as reference for their comments.

But why that section of the website? What occurred to spur such an action? WHY was Goshen hacked?
Suspicious eh?

The Goshen Town Board, is responsible for appointments to the Planning Board. The Town Board is also the entity responsible for the “Zone Change” which would permit Legoland in the proposed area*. The Planning Board is the Lead Agency for the project which, under SEQRA (State Environmental Quality Review Act), assures us in the general public that we have seen all environmental threats either eliminated or mitigated.

Now what do you think the Town Board did? They decided not to reappoint a member of the Planning Board either because the PB member is too old or because HIS WIFE is openly opposed to Legoland!!! What other reason??? Did Merlin ask the Town Board to make sure he is not reappointed under threat of lawsuit, powered by their budget which is significantly more than the Town’s?  This non-reappointed gentleman merely expressed that he is “on the fence” regarding the project. The Town Board has not commented on its action. This is a personnel change, in the middle of an application with serious impacts and we are concerned that a new member(s) will not be able to play “catch up” as far as the volumes of information to be reviewed.**

Or maybe that is the point.

Does the Town Board think this is wise? It certainly gives the appearance of impropriety (removing a board member “mid-stream”) Mr. Bloomfield, we need an answer to the question “Why?”

Let’s review for a minute here. We are talking about building a theme park where the “Theme” is plastic blocks. And while Auntie and her nieces and nephews have played with Lego blocks growing up and enjoyed; building a Theme Park based on Legos is like building a Theme Park based on concrete blocks, which would be more suited to the target audience of the Elected Officials of Orange County. We can see it now as the Orange County Elite Officials sit in a Stonehenge like configuration of concrete blocks, being told by a representative of the company promoting this idea, Wizard Enjoyments, to “use their imagination” and see what an attraction this would be! And the benefit is that only those up to age 5 would be the target audience! (We would be quite surprised if they could sell it to anyone over 2 yrs old, what child would want to sit and look at concrete blocks for any length of time without jumping on them or trying to eat them?) Another benefit is the jobs created as those who tend to the concrete blocks work away, busy busy, busy, to ensure high quality blocks for the little tykes! Think of the jobs generated in the rubber factories as well, as the padding for said blocks is manufactured! (and for the padded cells that will be waiting for some of those officials!) What fun!

OK, back to this world, lol

*The Goshen Town Board first has to vote to change area zoning laws before the plan can move forward but Supervisor Bloomfield tells NewsChannel 13 it "looks promising."  http://wnyt.com/stem/lego-land-goshen-orange-county/4172544/

Maybe Town of Goshen Supervisor Doug Bloomfield should recuse himself since that sounds like a pre-formed opinion; his, not his wife’s.

Auntie has another question for her much appreciated Nieces and Nephews, Do you think an elected official can successfully serve two masters? The super-majority of the Goshen Town Board members are also on the Town of Goshen Republican Committee (Sans Ken Newbold, the lone Democrat on the board who is not on that respective committee.)

** Also, the Town Board decided to switch members with one Planning Board member going to the ERB and one Environmental Review Board member going to the PL Bd. They happen to be married, to each other. (Maybe the Town Board thought they could catch each other up.)

Is the pool of candidates for these boards that small or is this just BLATANT NEPOTISM!!!!?

Well Auntie it looks like the fix is in! SHOVE Legoland into a spot near wetlands and people's homes. Why not? Someone has to make money...who cares about the noise and traffic? Certainly not the Goshen town board.
Let's get that rubber adding ready!

Some interesting facts on the little 'bricks'.

Unfortunately, Lego does not accept its products back for recycling. The company does share that its bricks are made with #7 plastic, which is classified as “other” plastic. Many plastic toys fall into this category, and they are all tough to recycle.Feb 11, 2015
How to Recycle Legos | RecycleNation

There are sites where you can send your LBS. of little #7 only marked bricks and receive paypal or a check (prices not given)with free s/h. OR you can save them for your grandchildren, donate to thrift shops, hospitals for children, garage sales etc. And the best news of all is that 60 BILLION are mfg. each year in Denmark for your buying pleasure. Some of these kits cost over $159 @ Walmart. So much for our environment KIDS !!!!

And while you are at it, research what chemical compound is in plastic #7. Good health to all.

Why don't we send the Little lego bricks back to Denmark for recycling? Why the company could clean them up and resell them!!!

Can I ask where this info came from? It was my understanding there was not any further living spaces to be built at spiritual center other than for a caretaker?

I only want to know this - where is Preet when we need him? This is blatant stuff - we know it, and our fine Town Board knows it too. What has been promised - cash payments? Trips? secret investment accounts?
