Steve Neuhaus is Running Again

Dear Nieces and Nephews

What can we say about Stevie Neuhaus that we have not said in the past four years? Well, we can now cite real examples from our County Executive. We can comment on his latest campaign literature which includes such topics of job creation, Stewart Airport and the Village of Kiryas Joel.

When Steve was campaigning in 2013 for his first County Executive run, he displayed a natural talent for presentation and marketing so that it appeared he knew what he was doing. His naturally relaxed personality and comfort level being the center of attention in a crowded room has served him well. His ability to adopt an issue and have everyone believe that he was “on board” and even take credit for it, continues to assist him in his efforts. (Valley View: he now is one of the people who “saved” Valley View through his guidance and direction, see Auntie’s multiple posts on the topic). He is now doing so with the “Kiryas Joel" issue.

It is evident that Steve thought, in the beginning of this campaign, that he was a “shoe-in” despite competition from Pat Davis, who got off to a slow start. Now, after debating Pat Davis, he may have had a glimpse of just how much more qualified to be the county executive Pat is, instead of himself. Pat lacks the marketing and campaigning skills than are evident in Stevie, however, after seeing him in person,  Auntie and Team have no doubts about his ability to actually do the job. AND Pat Davis actually has a plan. Not just a marketing slogan. More on that later.

Steve, in 2013, said that he will have 1000 jobs in1000 days and his “plan” was the acronym START.
This had no specifics but identified the areas of economic concentration.

“Within 30 days of taking office, he said, he will hold the first START Orange County Summit to bring together municipal, community and business leaders to develop an aggressive plan: to create 1,000 new full-time jobs in 1,000 days.” What happened? Nothing.

Steve has no specific plans other than jumping on issues that rise to the top. He cannot, to this day, point out anything specific that he has done to increase economic growth except he “encourages” business growth, creates an environment “friendly to business” with his idea of “shovel ready” sites, (and how many are there at this point in time? Hmmn?). And he pals around with Maureen Hallahan of Orange County Partnership and does photo ops. And the two of them are fond of giving each other awards (OCP is a marketing and promotional “Quasi-governmental" firm that is meant to attract businesses that would benefit the county, not undermine it, as with Legoland.) As far as jobs, he did increase the number of jobs for Construction by tearing down a government center to its bare skeleton, rebuilding most of it and adding to it when it was not necessary to do so. And these jobs are temporary. (Paul Rudolph is “rolling in his grave”)

Read the info in the link carefully, Todd D’orio speaks of the general increase in a four county area. “He credited Neuhaus with improving the relationship among the trade unions and the Orange County Partnership and the Industrial Development Agency.” Todd said: “This has made real jobs for Orange County,”

Did it really Todd? And are those jobs there now, Todd? No Pennsylvania plates ever at the site?

Did Steve increase jobs in the key growth areas of Medicine (Health Care Workers) and Technology? No, unless he wants to take credit for the expansion of Crystal Run Healthcare, which according to the NYS Department of Labor, is one of the biggest employers, along with Home Depot, in Orange County.

Jobs with which you make enough money to support a family? Just like Legoland hahahahaha!

Steve will take credit for saving Health Care jobs at Valley View, at the same time he advocated for the sale of Valley View.

Steve is credited by Maureen Hallahan for attracting businesses like McKesson, but does not specifically state what he did.  http://www.hvmag.com/County-Executive-Steve-Neuhaus-OC-Partnership-MVP/

Steve takes credit for saving county employee positions, but remember,  the “attrition” idea was not even his, but a democratic party legislator's suggestion.

He is all promise; no method, no specifics.

Steve, if something happens during your tenure in office, it does not mean that you are automatically responsible for that event happening. Your Auntie is growing worried; do you honestly believe your own propaganda?

Steve has had an effect on the increase of passengers at Stewart Airport and attracting Norwegian Airlines to Stewart. He stood by a plane and looked pretty. But he is claiming that he is responsible for Norwegian at Stewart in his campaign literature:

STEVE SAID:
“I saw the problems at Stewart for years. When I became County Executive, I did something about it”

This is interesting on many levels. First, he does not mention exactly what it is he did besides the photo op. Secondly, he has been on the Stewart Airport Commission for many years and long before his stint as CE. Why didn’t he do something then? Thirdly, What were all the other Commissioners, like Lou Heimbach doing? And the main issue is: The Stewart Airport Commission is advisory in nature only. They can advise the PA.
So, did he “do something about it” or did he “give advice”?

What did he really DO? Nothing. He was just there.

And is it really “all better now”?

When the NY NJ Port Authority was angling for a name change, Steve’s level of involvement was:
The lease between the state and the Port Authority, signed in 2007, dictates the New Windsor airport’s name shall remain Stewart International Airport, but Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus doesn’t see that as insurmountable.
STEVE SAID:“That is something they will have to work out with their lawyers,”  he said.
More detail:
STEVE SAID “That is something they will have to work out with their lawyers and at the end of the day the Port Authority and New York State are pretty much attached at the hip so they are going to have to work that out on their own,”

High level of involvement, wouldn’t you say?

And now Steve has come face to face with his competitor and seemingly, as a result, came up with his latest flyer: “Steve Neuhaus stood up to Kiryas Joel. Forcing them to the table” What table? The one with Untied Monroe? And turn the flyer over, you will be greeted with the accusations that Pat Davis got necessary signatures from KJ and yada yada yada.

Was it Pat Davis who got up before the assembled constituents at the Public Hearing in Central Valley and did a commercial for Untied Monroe and KJ’s Palm Tree? No, it was Steve. Pat Davis was more measured in his response and Steve did not understand.

We understand why Steve is attacking Pat Davis. He is claiming Pat Davis “got on the ballot because of Kiryas Joel” That’s funny coming from Steve who needed KJ  votes to defeat Roxanne Donnery. And Steve is scared because Pat Davis has real military experience and credentials. Pat did not flit like a bird from one military reserve unit to another.

Yes, Steve is running scared. You see, Pat Davis actually has a plan. One that balances the economic factors and the protection of our environment. A way to provide job growth that is actual “progress, not growth for the sake of growth”.

Pat Davis has a plan, one with actual strategy AND tactics. A 100 day plan that is very “Reagan like.”
And it is a bit ambitious but logical.

Auntie loves logic.

We believe that while Mr. Davis was NOT prepared for his campaign, he seems more than ready to do the actual job.

Let’s not have 4 MORE YEARS OF TALK AND HYPE; LET’S GET REAL. Do not Vote for Steve!!!

PS From his own website: http://steveneuhaus.com/Accomplishments

Note the passive tense on Jobs, Businesses and Stewart Airport:

PPS
VOTE NO! To Palm Tree

Voters in Monroe, please use common sense and not the ravings of politically motivated members of Untied Monroe: Vote NO! To the creation of a new town of Palm Tree.

Emily said: “We are so close to fully taking back our Town Board, and separating from Kiryas Joel”

Do not believe this hype given to you by Emily, John and crew! You do not have to vote for Palm Tree at the sake of your neighbors. You will take back your Town Board. KJ will have NO influence in your Town elections for the next four years since the only candidates are Untied Monroe. Think about it. Vote NO to Palm Tree, if you vote yes, you are only making it worse in the near future. Do not vote for a back door  “agreement” that is forcing the issue on people who have no vote in the matter. Like those in Woodbury and Blooming Grove.

  3. Auntie and Team, you just made my day and I hope opened the eyes of many others. It must take an army to amass all the facts and research, but we salute you.

  4. There is something wrong in this county when the same men who refused to testify under oath, are now running for public office instead of being investigated. It also shows how now all of these politicians have come together and are supported by the current CE. It does not speak very highly of his integrity, which by the way he never had. The tentacles of corruption run deep and these men can only be stopped by voting them out.

  7. Dear Nieces and Nephews
It seems that Emily and crew have gotten quite proficient at using the boogeyman (aka Harley Doles) to inspire the untied in Monroe to fear vote. Ohno! Harley has a stamp and he is going to win!!! vote for UM and the the new town Palm Tree and then everything will be OK.
Surely eveyone realizes what a crock this is. Emily has done what many have tried to do. Steve, Billy D and others should take lessons from her.

  8. Judging from the results, voters dont seem to care who or what you are, just what you appear to be. "Isn't he a nice young man?" Or "He is really connected" "She would never do that, they're lying" is what the voter of today says.

  9. Well the voters of OC should be real proud of themselves this morning. Another 4-yrs. of corruption with Team Orange. They are enough of a disgrace on their own, and now they have made sure with a super majority nothing will ever be voted on to protect your interests. The sky is the limit. Pack your bags and run for the hills and don't worry about selling your house. There is a special buyer who will take it as it. You all did it, know wallow in the filth of it all. You all deserve Team Orange. You know, the one's with all that integrity oozing from their (fill in the blanks). Oh, and don't forget baby Eddie. Heee's back !!!!
