JOBS for You!
Dear Nieces and Nephews
We have heard from our County Leaders on the benefits of attracting businesses and industries to Orange County. From Legoland, “The” Casino, Amy’s Kitchen and Draggons Gate, we have heard the refrain from Steve “Noodlehaus” Neuhaus and his buddy,Maureen “Awesome” Halahan about JOBS, JOBS, JOBS for locals that will be realized with each and every one of these projects.
Are the supposed jobs (amount of local labor employed has NEVER been verified with any project) worth affecting the health and well being of OC residents? Are these shadows of jobs worth damaging the local environment to the extent that LEGOLAND and AMY’s has done? Auntie and the Team question the judgement, actions taken and the motivation of our “County Leaders”, specifically Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus and Maureen Halahan, CEO of the Orange County Partnership. Either they have limited intelligence, are extremely gullible or they are corrupt.
In May of last year, Baltia Airlines renamed US Global had a big party announcing their intentions to fly from Stewart to St. Petersburg (Russia, not Florida).
STEVE SAID: “It’s very easy to fly out here so I think that convenience really makes a big difference especially for the Hudson Valley market," and "The neighbors welcome it, We have an over 1000-acre buffer zone and that's to keep the noise down so I think it's a great community. It's going to be a perfect marriage and we welcome them here."
In Orange County, the move could bring growth for the airport and the local economy, according to Maureen Halahan, the President and CEO of the Orange County Partnership:
MAUREEN SAID: "The jobs are a rippling effect if you will in the community so the exact number of executive level and that I don't have that number right now it really depends on the growth.”
What accounts for such disjointed prose on the part of our "leaders"? Lack of preparation?

Exactly WHY is Maureen so happy? You would be happy too, if you had her money. Remember, Maureen’s income from the OCP alone is about $200K/yr. If we all made that kind of money, we’d all be happy, especially if we did little work for it.
What type of JOBS these projects will bring? High paying? Will a local person make more that $15/hr at Legoland? Will Orange County residents make $200K a year working at ANY of the projects “attracted” by Steve and/or Maureen. NO. But you might get to see a dragon at Stone Henge wearing monks robes while dancing in space, if the surfeit of amusement parks is realized. Or you may see a line of local farmers queued up at AMY’s begging to sell their onions while the unions begin to realize how they have been duped.
Baltia/US Global was another of their projects, full of promise, promotion and no substance.
A big rooster on the tail fin !!!! Didn’t anyone tell them that chickens don’t fly?
How does a company spend 27 years getting… nowhere?
The most generous explanation is that Dmitrowsky and other executives severely underestimated what it takes to launch an international airline, and have been plagued by bad luck, bad timing, bad judgment, overly fastidious FAA officials, and, of course, not enough money.
A less-generous explanation is that Baltia executives have been grossly negligent, or worse. Either way, the company has been nothing if not persistent.
But it was not to be. Baltia failed the FAA evaluation—seven times. There was a problem with the deployment of the slides. (FAA does not make the records of the evaluation public.) Baltia appealed the decision, to no avail. The stock price fell below $.001. All the while it issued more and more stock, raised more and more capital.
To reiterate, the company has had zero revenue.
It has not flown a flight, sold a seat, delivered a package (a significant part of its revenue was to be from courier services). It is unclear where this money has gone. According to the company’s own filings, about $7.8 million was put towards the FAA certification; just under $4.5 million was used to purchase equipment (of which they recovered less than $150,000); and over $103 million is listed in the ledger under ‘General and administrative’ costs.
Baltia executives have ignored multiple requests for comment.
Their business plan was to initially fly between New York and St. Petersburg, Russia, with plans to later expand to other European capitals. For years Baltia has been pretending that they’re actually going to start flying some day soon. Bizarrely enough, some people actually believed it, as the airline had a market cap of $70 million in 2014.
Orange County’s own Judy Rife in the THR:
The SEC, in its investigation of Clare, determined that Baltia sold unregistered common stock to investors to funds its operations – and that it had never operated any flights or generated any revenue since its founding.
Investigators claimed Clare essentially ran the finance department as an in-house brokerage firm, raising $26 million between March 2011 and March 2015 and pocketing about $1.7 million in commissions.
He was barred from the industry for a year in August and ordered to pay $15,000 in penalties, $988,000 in disgorgement to investors and $69,000 in prejudgment interest. He resigned in February as a vice president and director of Baltia.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Securities and Exchange Commission has suspended trading in the stock of Baltia Air Lines a year after the aspirational carrier staged a shareholders party at Stewart International Airport in an attempt to reinvent itself as USGlobal Airways.
Since its founding in 1989, Baltia’s sole source of revenue has been from the sale of stock.
It has owned a used plane or two over the years, but it has never sold a ticket or flown anywhere.
The current chairman, Anthony Koulouris, held a party for shareholders at Stewart last year to unveil his plan to rebrand Baltia as USGlobal Airways and begin flights from the airport to unserved or underserved cities in Europe and Asia.
Question for you, Cari Nipoti, Do you think that Steve and Maureen actually investigate a proposal, project or business before they speak out in support?
If they did, they might have noticed that Baltia/US Global Airways was not the wonderful addition to the Stewart lineup that it was purported to be.
IF you were a business that failed in a state such as Michigan, or in a county such as Rockland, where would you attempt to revive your “plan”? Why Orange County, off course! You see, in Orange County, all you have to do is say: “JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!!” and Steve and Maureen will be glad to help you!

In the photo above, Steve is flanked by what appears to be two of the Flight Attendants in “Official US Global uniforms” (On the uniforms, in small print is their slogan. It looks like it says: "Fly Global, bring your own parachute").
The two “flight attendants” are models from NJ and the pictures of the US Global plane, are just a "mock up".
An “airline” that temporarily owned ONE, non functioning plane.
…Has no employees,
…an income source from STOCK sales only,
And has been a “Start-up” for over 20 years!
But they will create JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!!
But they will create JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!!
However, the truth comes out:
1.05.2018 - 10:53 UTC
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has suspended the trading of Baltia Air Lines, Inc. (t/a USGlobal Airways) stock effective May 8.
The regulator said in a statement that it had based its decision on the fact that Baltia had not filed any periodic reports since the period ended March 31, 2016.
STEWART AIRPORT – Baltia Air Lines, the aspirational carrier with offices at New York Stewart International Airport, has been hit with a $22 million default judgment and the arrest of its largest shareholder on financial fraud charges.

Baltia loses $22mn case to Logistics Air, Inc.
Auntie and the Team are surprised that it took so long for the law to catch up with them. We guess these things take time.
This is what Orange County is “attracting” in the way of “JOBS JOBS JOBS” for OC residents, thanks to our Orange County Executive and the CEO of Orange County Partnership, the “private” entity that accepted tax payer’s money as a revenue stream.
Our Orange County “Leaders” must think we are really stupid.
And if we do nothing, we are.

Amy's will buy virtually ZERO local product. Period. Our area grows very little product that can meet their "organic" standard and further, if you are doing the expense of growing something via organic methods you're certainly not going to sell at the crappiest price tier, for processing, versus the best, retail. Only a fool does that.
The following is part of an e-mail I sent local staff for some elected officials re Amy's:
* There are 3 tiers of ag prices, retail, wholesale and processing. If a farmer, especially on the black dirt, is going to transition to organic production they certainly aren’t going to sell for the cheapest price. And Amy’s may pay a slightly better processing price. But who knows, are they disclosing this, or are they actually expecting farmers to transition purely on faith?
* Make no mistake, Amy’s WILL hire the exact same people we do and we will be facing an even worse situation regarding labor than we are facing now.
By the way, it would appear Amy’s isn’t exactly an ideal employer: http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/7355049-181/amys-kitchen-suit-charges-the & https://www.ien.com/video/video/20974186/foodmaker-accused-of-firing-injured-employees
Article states: "According to the news source Petaluma 360, the lawsuit claims Amy’s deliberately hires and promotes predominantly Mexican-Americans because of their reputation for being hard workers. The suit also says that supervisors gave instructions in Spanish, and a worker says he was retaliated against for not understanding.”
If there is any question as to who they exactly they will hire let’s just set it aside. We WILL be competing with them for labor. Period. It’s their business model.
* While the Town of Goshen is all concerned about pleasing this new processor moving into town and theoretical local farmers who will never switch to organic they do next to nothing to help the multi-generational farms that currently employ hundreds of people and is already a multi-million dollar industry. In fact, over the last few years the Town of Goshen illegally closed a main road in the black dirt because they no longer wanted to be responsible for it and maintain it (they had to back down), jacked up our land assessments and thereby jacked up our taxes (they also had to back down on that), and have dragged their feet on maintaining the portion of the Wallkill River that runs through it.
Nice to hear from one of our favorite nephews! And Chris does make a good point. The jobs that Amy's will create are not the ones touted by Stevie Noodlehaus and Awesome Halahan.
The same can be said about Legoland and the other "job generators" like Legoland and the multitude of breweries supported by the tramatic duo.
Let's take off the blinders everyone and get busy!!!
Orange
There will be no jobs offered which will sustain a suitable living wage in OC. With the onslaught of CPV our black dirt farmer's crops will be decimated. What about the other promised JOB,JOBS,JOBS, offered by the defunct Kikkerfrosch Brewery and National Organics (no one has accounted for those 60K fish). Other towns and counties are flourishing, while OC is counting on frivolous theme parks, part time at that. It is all smoke and mirrors. Where are the big name corporate entities who seem to be avoiding OC like the plague. Perhaps they see the writing on the wall.
VOTE BLOOMFIELD OUT AN HIS SUPPORT TEAM.
