Joe Destefano and the Sobroken Film Festival: "Show Me the Money"
Dear Nieces and Nephews
Last week, Joe DeStefano, Mayor of the City of
Middletown, made a big announcement about the Hoboken Film Festival. Joe is
more than likely going to renew the “Contract” with Kenny in October. Joe is probably doing this based on the glowing
accolades that Kenny has received so far for HIFF. http://www.recordonline.com/article/20150908/NEWS/150909419
Certainly someone like Joe would not be fooled by a
hustler and has had someone on his staff double-check those accolades.
Or not.
Like many politicos who stop a sentence at a point where
it suits them, because if they presented the entire sentence or quote it would
actually contradict, not support, the point they are trying to get across, it
looks like Justice For All Productions. THE WORKS OF KENNETH DEL
VECCHIO Critically Acclaimed Filmmaker & Bestselling
Author, Film Festival Chairman & former Judge did just
that with this statement and press quotes. Remember, Kenny is critically
acclaimed by himself but apparently not anyone else. Kenny’s mixture of horror,
sex and extreme (far beyond right wing) political views do not seem to be
“critically acclaimed” by any major, recognized film critic so far.
KENNY SAID:
THE LIFE ZONE
“The Life Zone has caused an uproar”
-Newsweek/The Daily Beast
-Newsweek/The Daily Beast
“A psychological thriller bringing an emphatically
anti-abortion slant to the hot-button issue”
-The Los Angeles Times
-The Los Angeles Times
“Just like all great horror films, Del Vecchio’s movie
has a shocking twist”
“The Life Zone is a thriller with a message”
-FOX/UPN
-FOX/UPN
Here’s the complete statements of each and they are not
“reviews” or “acclaims” of any sort.
THE REALITY IS:
THE LIFE ZONE
“The Life Zone has caused an uproar”
-Newsweek/The Daily Beast
-Newsweek/The Daily Beast
This statement is part of an intro to the article, "The
Controversial Abortion Horror Film":
“‘The Life Zone’
has caused an uproar. Marlow Stern talks to Ken Del Vecchio, the politician
behind the anti-abortion movie, and its stars, including Oscar nominee Robert
Loggia.”
And is not very complementary, maybe Kenny only read
the first sentence.
After The Life Zone premiered recently at the Hoboken International Film Festival, which Del Vecchio runs, the Internet was abuzz with criticism, and even Stephen Colbert mocked Del Vecchio’s film on The Colbert Report,
saying, “How about… a movie that protects traditional marriage where a
gay guy and a lesbian are stitched together, junk-to-junk, by a mad,
moralistic scientist until they realize how good it feels?”
“A psychological thriller bringing an emphatically
anti-abortion slant to the hot-button issue”
-The Los Angeles Times
-The Los Angeles Times
This quote is about two films, not just Kenny’s. Here it
is, in context:
“Mainstream
Hollywood rarely tackles the subject of abortion, and when it does, it's
usually when a character quietly opts not to have one. But two new
independently financed movies — a small-town
mystery and a psychological thriller — are bringing an emphatically
anti-abortion slant to the hot-button issue.” - See more at: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movies/2011/06/abortion-movies.html#sthash.SaSoqoqF.dpuf
“Just like all great horror films, Del Vecchio’s movie
has a shocking twist”
Re: Colbert “…while
lampooning Del Vecchio and the obvious overtones of the film….” The Jersey
Journal on June 16, 2011
Kenny does know that the Colbert Report is a spoof,
right? (As indicated above)
“The Life Zone is a thriller with a message”
-FOX/UPN
-FOX/UPN
Sorry Nieces and Nephews, this link just goes to a list
of the Sobroken Film Festival sponsors, Oops, we sure it was just and oversight
on Kenny’s part.
And this is just the misinformation for the one film, The
Life Zone.
Don’t worry, there’s more…
Last time Kenny got S5000.00 for his contract? What did the
City of Middletown receive in measurable profit? And, how much did Kenny get from Touro
Osteopathic School for his latest film, "Hospital Arrest"?
Goshen has an old theatre. Perhaps Kenny could premiere his
next film “Man-eating Hamburgers of Goshen” where raw hamburgers run amok in
the streets eating everyone they see.

Definitely a matter that should be looked into. Bang for the buck? Neuhaus and Big Joe........can't we do better? What would Orange County resident, Robert De Niro say or do? Just who makes decisions on what Orange County money should be spent on? Having a county wide vote would be novel.
Whats the odds/line JOE JOE is hedging his bet on Kenny D.
