Diana's Dream

Dear Nieces and Nephews,

First, your Auntie would like to personally thank the many of our Nieces and Nephews that sent photos and videos of the DEMOLITION of the Orange County Government Center.

The empty shell of Rudolph’s work

Eddie Diana’s dream comes true! After years of vying for the replacement of a structure that he hated, his aspirations and hopes have been realized with the help of Stevie Neuhaus, his dream traveler.

The Orange County Government Center has been destroyed!

Eddie’s dream come true. Eddie’s dream and our nightmare. Why? Not only because they have DESTROYED one of the finest examples of Paul Rudolph’s work, it was unnecessary to replace a building that would have been standing for at least another forty years or more! (it was built to last and if it was not neglected, things like roof repair would not have been needed at such a scale.) Demolishing and rebuilding comes at a very HIGH COST and guess what?  dear nieces and nephews, YOU are paying for it!

the dream team

There appears to be NO remediation for asbestos

Hey Steve, are you going to replace the government center with Legoland? Because that’s the appropriate place for your type of leadership, a theme park!

Stevie Thunder, the Lego King WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

You (and Eddie) have no business running a county government.

And don’t forget the water parks and pot farms, because we have sooo much to spare! Who needs to drink it anyway? Use the water for fun. not drinking; after all de-hydrated humans are easier to control.

It’s harder to think when you are thirsty.

PS Has anyone realized yet that theme parks are based on discretionary income and we will not have jobs! jobs! jobs! if the economy tanks again? Pay your mortgage or rent or go to Legoland...hmmnn... What do you think?

One of Eddie's dreams has come true for the time being. Still one more to go. As far as LEGOLAND, waterparks, these are not for the taxpayers of OC who will be paying the bills, it is for the TOURISTAS that Stephan hopes to entice coming to this land of milk and honey with the profits going under the table. And JOBS, do not make me laugh. Minimum wage, p/t temporary jobs. Jobs, high paying ones, will go to friends and relatives, and people from out of state all connected. Like Auntie says... pay your mortgage or blow your bankroll on this florida.legoland.com/buy-tickets/admission-tickets/1-day/
$89 entry fee 13+ so do the math on a family of 4. A bargain !!! And don't forget the new budget for 2016 which includes an increase in our tourism business from $600K to $1M. Our legislators will be voting on this soon and it is YOUR money. So let them know what YOU as a taxpayer get out of all this fun stuff coming to OC. Can you afford the entry fees and listen to your kids say "but why can't we go Daddy"....

it is obvious the Neuhaus cares more about non residents and himself than the people of Orange County. He tries to present things as if they would be good for us.
The above comment is correct. We can't afford to take our kids to any theme park that charges so much and it will be a true pain to have it right in our back yard. Traffic noise etc AND the kids screaming every time we pass by Why cant we go Daddy.

Does anyone else find it interesting that all the dire talk during last year's budget sessions about laying off large numbers of County employees, huge budget deficits and the need to sell Valley View in order to keep the County from going bankrupt has suddenly disappeared this year? In 1 year, under Neuhaus, suddenly the County is such good shape. Or was it rather than Neuhaus hyped up how bad things were in order to try to close Valley View and pursue other agendas?

Hope people remember all of this crap next election season.

Also, Auntie, please keep the public informed on the huge cost of this County rebuilding, at a time when the County was going bankrupt--sell Valley View while paying for a new Government Center building. Interesting budget balancing, creative math and lots of PR and hype. Typical political double talk.

Here's something unrelated but needing investigation, Auntie. As his tenure as mayor of Poughkeepsie comes to an end (thanks to term limits), word on the street is that loyal young Republican John Tkazyik will be jumping from his mayoral role across the river to a sweetheart gig in Orange County Government. Not sure where they'll be placing (hiding) this guy, though.

Aside from his dismal tenure as mayor, his main work experience comes from his family's restaurant, Andy's Place. And while their chili has taken home awards, the same can't be said for Tkazyik's financial acumen and budgeting practices. Just within the last few weeks, he announced layoffs in the 2016 city budget which he blamed on the new CSEA contract for city workers...a contract he himself negotiated only a few weeks prior. Gotta love these young Republicans...they can sink a city, but they still land on their feet.

Can anyone stop the lies, the deception, the cronyism, the smoke and mirrors of Neuhaus? The bad roads of Orange? The Warwick Supervisor was not challenged and he knew of the bad intersection where the high school students died and did nothing until tragedy struck. Over 1000 Less voted in the New Windsor elections this year since the last town elections and kept Green, Inc. In power. When will we ever learn? And the asbestos debacle in Goshen and New Windsor continues .
