Does Someone in Orange County Government Actually Have Common Sense?
In these times of fiscal constraint (to the tune of $60 million according to our County Executive, Stevie Thunder), it does NOT make sense to spend monies and take on further financial obligations by BUILDING A NEW GOVERNMENT CENTER!!!
Auntie finds the following comment by Legislator Dennis Simmons (R-District 13 Representing Deerpark, Mount Hope and Port Jervis) to be quite refreshing.
DENNIS SAID: “I am not for building a new government center now. I will support continuing to rent, at least for a while, and then if we can turn the economic situation of the county around, then look down the road as to whether or not we should build a new government center,”
Well said, Dennis! Bravo! For actually THINKING about the subject and for having the courage to stand up to any political pressure that you may have received (from your fellow Republicans or others.)
Dear Nieces and Nephews, if only we could have a few more OC moments like this!!!

let's hope that turning the economic situation around does not mean "all or our problems will be solved by selling Valley View".
Let's see how Dennis stands up to pressure then.
The sale of valley view is a smokescreen. Just ask the man behind the curtain, the puppet master.
