Fun with Stevie- more Porr, Campaign funds, Government Center, Deer Park and keeping us in the dark!

Stevie’s Legislative Parade (thanks to his cronies in the Orange County Legislature)

Dear Nieces and Nephews, there is just tooo much, even the day after a holiday, to bring to your attention regarding our County Government, so the team decided to present this hodge-podge to you and provide links if you would like to investigate further. (Agenda items refer to the County Legislative meeting this Thursday, 3:30PM OC Emergency Services Center)

Porr Man’s Blues:

One of the items on the legislative agenda this Thursday:
Agenda item #12
HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE:
12- Resolution confirming the reappointments and appointments by the County Executive to the Orange County Veterans’ Advisory Board Committee (E. Watkins, B. Ryan, D. McTamaney, R. Ibe,
T. Dempsey, K. Nappi, F. Gilner, A. Zippo, T. Maguire, J. Oser, A. Porr)

A. Porr is none other than Andrew Porr of Newburgh NY! Can it be? Is it the son of Harry and the brother of Joanna? Yes! And while this position is not paid, it is a stepping stone to other appointments and sure looks good on a resume (CV)!

Andrew M. Porr, made the SUNY Orange Dean’s list in the 2011 fall semester; that’s a good enough reason to appoint the youngin’ to such a position. He must have a great deal of empathy for veterans, which rubbed off on him when he stood next to Steve in his Navy Reserve uniform, which Steve seems to be wearing more and more.

We are caused to speculate just how much Stevie owes the Porr family if he is appointing three (3) members of the Porr family, with more appointments to come. Just slip them in there, Stevie, we won’t notice!

We love veterans, if they are not in Valley View

(And interestingly, some of our elected officials have their Veteran parents in Valley View)

Read this about Stevie’s first ever healthcare forum and yes, it is a press release.

Stevie loves Deer Park!

(And not just for the water!) and Remember who is the Supervisor of Deer Park and candidate for State Assembly, Karl Brabenec aka Karlapoolza!!!

WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE:
5- Resolution authorizing the private sale and conveyance of certain county owned lands
acquired by reason of a failure to redeem said lands from a tax sale to Orange County
(Deerpark, New Windsor)
6- Resolution directing the cancellation of certain taxes which have been rendered unenforceable
(Deerpark)

Pay to Play Local Law

Agenda item 2 Local Law Introductory No. 6, 2014, a Local Law amending Local Law No. 13 of 2013 (as previously amended) known as the “Pay-to-Play Local Law”

Now remember, this is after Stevie has received thousands of dollars from two of the gambling potentials. Stevie has received monies from a myriad of labor unions, contractors, and private firms etc which all have done or plan to do business with the county. Why would Stevie want to amend this law which was just adopted in 2013, where his donations from Phil Clark of Clark Patterson Lee flew in just under the wire? Hmmn… Let’s take a look:

Section 4. Campaign Contributions Made prior to the Effective Date.
No contribution or money or any other thing of value, including in-kind contributions, made by a professional business entity to those individuals or entities set forth in Section 3 shall be deemed a violation of this section, or be disqualified thereby, if that contribution was made by the professional business entity prior to the effective date of this local law. The disclosure requirements shall not apply to contracts awarded subsequent to the effective date if the solicitation and/or renewal process was initiated prior to the effective date of this local law.

Why? BECAUSE THIS LOCAL LAW EFFECTIVELY GIVES ANY COUNTY OFFICIAL IMMUNITY IF THEY VIOLATE THE LAW AS IT STANDS NOW!!! AND ANY BUSINESS ENTITY DOING BUSINESS WITH THE COUNTY IS NOT SUBJECT TO DISCLOSURE, IF THEIR DEAL IS IN THE WORKS, NOW!!!

Think about it.

And not only will we keep an eye on the legislators who vote for it, we will subject their activities, campaign financial disclosure reports and their ethics forms to INTENSE SCRUTINY.

VERY.

INTENSE.

SCRUTINY.

Hurry! hurry! step right up!
Here’s your chance to buy into this carnival!

Government Center sell sell sell (but it doesn’t mean they won’t still try to build a Taj Mahal!)

1- Local Law Introductory No. 5 of 2014, a Local Law relating to the sale of certain County real property known as the Orange County Government Center; authorizing consideration of offers other than in response to the highest responsible bidder after public advertisement.

And it is not necessary to sell to the highest bidder. Which could be nice, if you would like to consider the intent of the buyer, how they would like to use it etc.

Or it could be nice if one of your buddies wants to buy it. Or facilitate the sale.

And there is more on the agenda, these aforementioned are just some highlights of interest.

You can think…
Or you can just do what you are told

Every carnival gives out prizes. Wonder who wins the biggest prize. Maybe Auntie can get a hint from the Fortune Teller at the Carnival.
