Just saying, but do any of our places of worship resemble these gaudy structures with marble floors, crystal chandeliers, silver Torah that cost hundreds of thousand of dollars, religious events that bring in 100K or more worshippers, weddings where men wear hats with pelts of sable. No, our houses of worship are closing due to lack of funds and dwindling members. They are the poorest in OC but richer than some of our hardworking corporate executives, if you could prove it. Sad Auntie isn't it. As they grow in power our kind becomes weaker and will slowly be annihilated into obscurity too poor to remain on land once owned for generations by families who toiled to build OC out of obscurity from the Indian Wars, the Revolutionary War and all the others that followed. We pay big salaries to our politicians, judges, like Bartlett, $174K says the paper. some of the lucky ones own homes of that cost plenty .All work and pay taxes and obey the laws (right). But, like you said Auntie, it is inevitable, we must all just give in or be blamed for what they say we do.Their plan will succeed as long as politicians get their vote. But who will be left and who will be serving who

Auntie and the team debated on whether or not to delete the above post because some of the comments were prejudiced and/or in slightly poor taste. We decided to leave it because it reflects the level of frustration that the residents of Towns and Villages outside of KJ are feeling at this time. And it does open the door to legitimate debate about our politicians.

MANY houses of worship have “gaudy” structures adorned with gold and silver and cost a great deal of money. (And there are Christian sects included in that group.) As far as closings, that is an issue outside of this discussion, but we will agree that it is sad.

The point about being the “poorest” community is definitely relevant to the disproportionate use of social services, which indicates “scam” to most. And it does appear that a lifestyle that cannot be supported financially unless there is financial commitment from outside sources is a self-destructive one. (And note, an outside source from which the Satmar want nothing but their money.) This use of social services is supposedly due to the fact that the mothers of the large families are “unwed” and therefore eligible for additional services. Did anyone else notice the following: (referencing the THR article Wednesday by C.McKenna,“…and stems from the practice of marrying young and having lots of children, since birth-control is forbidden and large families are cherished.” ) So, they admit these women (and girls, some as young as 14 or 15) ARE married! (The discrepancy is because they are married, religiously not civilly.) Maybe we should change the law to include religious ceremonies, so that they would not be “unwed mothers” and therefore not eligible for those extra benefits. Or would that be government intrusion into religion? Hummn, a good debate for another time. Gotta love the First Amendment!

But we should increase investigations into the disproportionate number of “unemployed men” who can be seen on almost any day on the NYS Thruway (in special commuter buses, like “Monroe Bus” or even a KJ Ambulance) careening toward the Diamond Exchange in NYC to their employment or businesses.

So much for unemployment, so much for studying Torah all day. Investigations would be difficult to do with a “cash based” society but we have faith in the Preet Bhararas of this world.

This all brings to light that there are issues that need to be resolved SOON before the level of frustration rises to a level that precipitates trouble. Big trouble. Our politicians need to address this brewing kettle BEFORE the trouble occurs. Is anyone in elected office nowadays actually a leader? Not just a PR person?

Let’s not criticize a culture or religion, let’s stick to the facts. If the law is being broken then let’s enforce it equally, even if someone tries to say that’s prejudiced. (And this applies to the situations developing, or that have already developed, in France, Germany and elsewhere)

This post was a humorous way to point out that it is NOT FUTILE. Anyone familiar with Star Trek knows that Picard and the Federation triumphed in the end.

But not without extra effort.

PS we did delete the last sentence. Jokes about wives and dogs (or other animals) being a disposable commodity are NEVER FUNNY. BTW What is “our kind”?( first paragraph) We are all of the same “kind”, just with different styles.
