DECEPTION! using little plastic bricks

Dear Nieces and Nephews:

Last time, we focused on the deceptive practices of the letter writers who support Legoland and how they “imply” or “pretend” to live in Goshen. Well, there are more letters to the editor regarding Legoland. And the pro-legos are being a bit more clever since Auntie’s last post. Or so they think.

One in Saturday’s THR, starts with “I live on Conklingtown Road and will be among the closest neighbors to the proposed Legoland New York project. While I was very interested in how the project would fit into our community, I was happy to hear about the "park within park" concept, and the generous borders that are incorporated into the plan.” All is well? Isn’t it, Scott?

Yes, Scott Perry lives on Conklingtown rd and owns the house that sits on 2.4 acres. He also owns land that is addressed on Arcadia Rd, 8.5 acres.

“So, Auntie,” you say, “doesn’t that conflict with your thoughts on this? That residents of Goshen are not for Legoland and the business owners are the ones for it? Scott doesn’t live in Warwick. Like some of the others.”

Oh! my dear Nieces and Nephews, a partial truth is just as deceptive as misleading people so they believe you live in Goshen.

 Yes, Scott lives on Conklingtown Rd. BUT Scott Perry also has a very strong business interest in Goshen with business motives for wanting Legoland in Goshen. What better spokesperson for Legoland than someone who will live near Legoland! A sacrificial lamb!

However, Scott Perry, is VP of ATLAS SECURITY!!!

He stands to profit financially (BIG profit), if Legoland contracts with Atlas as their Security Team. This would enable him to move far, far, away! Away from the detriments of living near the incongruous behemoth, Legoland. He is not stuck! He does not stand to lose his life savings after investing in a home in a residential area turned theme park. He is not like many of the residents of Goshen that want to continue to live in Goshen without this monster who poses as friend to all children under age 12. And he can sell his “farm” to Legoland for their future expansion.

Auntie and the Team apologize for using themselves as a proof source but it is easier than citing all the sources again. And admittedly it does tickle our sense of humor a bit.

Another county contractor sent as a representative of the County Executive?? Scott Perry as well as Josh Sommers from Focus Media??? Is it ethical to send a contractor to represent an elected official??? Is there an appearance of impropriety?
