The Hitchhiking Politician

Dear Nieces and Nephews

Senator Bonacic’s announcement that he will retire, caused a bevy of activity from the Republican side of the aisle. In a time where they are losing ground in NYS because of their self-defeating appeal to their ultra conservative right wing republicans, they lose the moderate, slightly right of center republicans and the non- aligned, but increasing important voters known as “blanks”.

And when we see the retreads popping out of the woodwork, trying to remake themselves, we just laugh and laugh. Look who has surfaced, ALL with big obstacles to overcome, including the “endorsed (by OCGOP) one”, Annie Rabbitt, the Hitchhiking Politician.

Let’s take a look!

Dan Depew: Dan, if he ran, would have to shake off his affiliation with the Bloomingburg “secret-high-density” developer, Shalom Lamm.

from the Federal Bureau of Prisons

Karl Brabenec: Do we even have to go over why it is not a good idea for him to run?

And Karl’s former boss:

Eddie Diana: Perhaps the ability to cut state funding to publicly owned nursing homes like Valley View, had him salivating like Pavlov’s dog. Eddie expressed interest initially, but has not been heard from since Annie’s announcement. However, we have heard that in addition to senate seat, he was thinking of going into the Roof Repair business.

Drip, Drip, Drip!

...“eccentric development”?

And then there is Annie. The Hitchhiking Politician, jumping from one position to the next. Annie likes to move around. You see, she has hitched a ride in every elected position, angling for the next one. She served as Greenwood Lake Trustee and then was elected to the Warwick town board. She left the Warwick town board prior to her terms end when elected to the Assembly, she left the Assembly prior to her terms end when elected as Orange County Clerk and now she is running for NYS Senate, again not intending to finish her term. Auntie can understand if this occurred once or twice but as a consistent pattern over 19 years? We think not.

If we elect her to the NYS Senate position, for what will she run next? OC Executive?

Annie is ambitious, seemingly using one position to achieve another.

Does that make a good elected official? No, but it does make a good politician.

Annie, a long-time local business owner, began her public service as President of the Greenwood Lake Chamber of Commerce from 1997 to 1999. Always interested in her community, Annie ran for and won her first public office as a Trustee for the Village of Greenwood Lake for which she served 1999 to 2002. Annie again expanded her public service by running and winning a seat on the Warwick Town Board from 2002 to 2005. Realizing she had a desire for broader public service, from 2004 to 2014, Annie went on to become a member of the New York State Legislature as an Assemblywoman. She was known as a tireless advocate for her district and the interests of New York State. She presently serves as Orange County Clerk.  https://www.orangecountygov.com/175/County-Clerk-Rabbitts-Biography

“A familiar face in Orange County is now a Senate candidate.
Monday, dozens of supporters gathered in Goshen as Orange County Clerk Annie Rabbitt announced her run for Senate. Rabbitt has served as clerk for nearly 5 years, but has also been in different public service roles, previously serving as an Assemblywoman.”

Rabbitt served in the Assembly from 2005 to 2013, taking office as county clerk in 2014. In Rabbitt, Republicans have a candidate with name recognition to help retain a seat in a district that is heavily Democratic.

If Rabbitt's numbers hold up, she will take office up in Albany on January 1, vacating her Town Board seat. Lavinski said the board would appoint a replacement to fill Rabbitt's term, which ends in December, 2005.

Edw. Diana,,,serving a lifetime of corruption and lack of service to the community is a joke. Just read the latest news in Wallkill to see what good deeds he is involved in now.

well after all she has all those suits in her closet..but what's hiding behind those suits. She has an indefensible record on critical matters in OC which I look forward to bringing to everyone's attention when I debate her.

I'm really looking forward to that debate, Pramilla! I almost feel sorry for her!
