Steve Wishes Merlin Could Make This Disappear or Brown Water is Normal

Dear Nieces and Nephews

Earlier this week, in what was touted as “The MVP breakfast”* celebrating the County’s leadership, the Town of Wallkill’s leadership and the City of Middletown’ Economic Development Team, Steve (Noodlehaus- we realized that we need to use his real name for googling purposes) Neuhaus gave a speech.

STEVE SAID:  “Legoland is in our rearview mirror. We’re looking at the next big project that’s coming,” Neuhaus said. “At the end of the day, it’s about keeping Orange County residents in jobs, so they can feed their families.”

That is very interesting, since the purpose of the get-together was to celebrate the Port Authority and the success of Norwegian Air at New-York Stewart International Airport.

Interesting because, if Steve has Legoland in his rear view mirror, then he does not see the significance of how Merlin Entertainments, the Parent of Legoland is developing the land. He does not see that clear cutting 100 acres at a time, instead of 5 acres per the Stormwater Management plan, is causing severe run-off and possible pollution into the area’s creeks and streams! Ones which ultimately flow into the Hudson River! (The river that Riverkeeper and others concerned about the environment have been trying to clean up for decades!) https://www.riverkeeper.org/

Hey Steve, is this what you and MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS and LEGOLAND see in that rear view mirror of yours?

Please explain why you think the water is supposed to be brown.

There is an Insurance company that has a jingle “…like a good neighbor…is there”
If Merlin Entertainments had one, it would go like this:
“Not a good neighbor, Merlin doesn’t care…”

*The breakfast was hosted by none other than the “I-do-not-know-when-to-shut-up” Maureen Halahan of the private entity (Orange County Partnership) which is still under investigation by the State Authorities Budget Office for using public monies. We suspect that this would not have happened if not for the co-operation of leaders in the county government.

P.S. Auntie and the Team strongly encourage her nieces and nephews in the UK to share any info they may have regarding Merlin Entertainments- Legoland and environmental issues in their country.

Excerpt from article regarding LEGO in UK:
"Councillors have approved major redevelopment plans at Legoland in Windsor, despite reports of an "intrusive" impact on the environment.

The Berkshire theme park had submitted a hybrid application, including a large holiday village and three new rides.

The plans - some on green belt land - had been recommended for refusal, but councillors on Thursday decided there were "exceptional circumstances".

A Legoland spokeswoman said the resort was "delighted" with the decision."

The exceptional circumstances were the increase in monies which would seen. Merlin can talk their way out of anything as long as money is the main driving force.

The green belt land to build the parking lot is in a flood zone and LEGO has guaranteed that no cars will be affected.

Dear Niece or Nephew who referred:

Excellent work! Your Auntie is not surprised that their environmental callousness is worldwide. Phil Royal, working in Orange County NY for the time being, is carrying out their orders to the max! Thank you for the info! WE ALL need to fight corporate greed! (and political greed)

A foggy day in London town.. how many days does it rain in the UK since Merlin does not give refunds but does provide rain ponchos. Quite amusing. In Goshen land LEGO is only open May-Oct. Employment opportunities slim if you need to work all year too.
