Tourism 101: Don't destroy what you have to replace it with cheap imitations Part One

Dear Nieces and Nephews:

As if to confirm what Auntie and the Team have been discussing in regards to Steve’s vision of the County, in today’s THR: INDUSTRIAL PARK DEVELOPERS EYE CAMP LAGUARDIA

STEVE SAID:
Great Wolf Lodge would be a major economic draw for the region and reinforce the successful partnership between our tourism and economic development efforts, Great Wolf Lodge and Legoland could work hand-in-hand to make Orange County a premier tourism destination in the Northeast.”

With this sanctioning of the two amusement park projects within 5-10 miles of each other, he has discouraged a legitimate use, one not discussed publicly.

When V. Paulius & Associates officials learned of Great Wolf’s interest in the property, they decided to hit the pause button on their plans, even though representatives had met several times with Neuhaus and the county attorney, and had been asked to make an offer on the property.

It appears that Steve is hanging onto the Great Wolf, to the detriment of other offers. We believe he plans to develop every square inch of land in the county, with a complete lack of regard to water sources, available sewer capacity, topography and infrastructure. And a complete lack of regard for OUR wishes. (Ourmeaning the citizens of Orange County)

Steve, you need to read the following op-ed.
The authors point out, with great credibility that it would be far better to utilize existing sites in Orange County's cities before building new project sites.

Lets compare the existingtourism drawsin OC and the tourism draws that Steve Neuhaus, Maureen Halahan and pals are seeking to establish.
We have this

And Orange County leaders want do that:

(This is not a garbage scow, it is the water park at the Great Wolf Resort in Massachusetts.)

Other counties are thriving by bringing hi-tech corporate jobs with salaries to match. They bring with them people who can afford homes in the $500K range, luxury cars and they shop till they drop. We, in OC instead have politicians who have not quite grown up themselves and are offering jobs that can barely sustain a happy meal for four. But certain people find this acceptable as long as they get theirs $$$.
