Speak or Act

The French have a saying, one with which we don't always agree but find that it does apply to Orange County today. This is because of the lack of any positive, constructive activity on the part of our county officials  AND because all of the blabbering.

"Ceux qui parlent ne font pas et ceux qui font ne parlent pas"

Those who speak don't act and those who act don't speak.

Just look at the past week for some great examples!

Labor Day

Labor day is not just about barbeques and picnics ( although we do hope you enjoy them.)
It is about remembering one of the things that makes this country of ours so great: hard working Americans!
Whether or not you believe it was Mr Maguire or Mr McGuire that started the labor movement,  Auntie Alibi and the team  wish you all a happy and safe boliday!

Moody's blues

MOODY'S BLUES (with apologies to the band!)

In yesterday’s press release, Stevie Thunder screamed the following:

8/26/2014 - 08-26-14 Moody’s Investors Service Again Downgrades Orange County 

Neuhaus calls for balanced budget as bond-rating agency assigns negative outlook

“Moody’s Investors Service today downgraded Orange County’s bond rating to Aa3 and assigned the county a negative financial outlook. This is the second time Moody’s has downgraded the county’s bond rating in less than six months.”…

Steve, it doesn’t help that, as you run around caterwauling about Valley View, you don’t really have a plan. (Do we all realize now that selling Valley View would be a one-time shot in the arm to the county budget and not a year after year revenue stream?) 

Maybe your significant lack of leadership is also contributing to this decrease.

And it is interesting to note that this decrease in rating occurred just AFTER you met with the Moody’s people.
