STEVE SAID: (nothing)
“What? Auntie” you say. And Auntie replies “That is
correct, this time, he said nothing”
You see, Cari Nipoti, he wasn’t there.
Auntie has waited a few days because she did not want to
dampen the festivities (and festive they were, judging by the dancing!) On
Tuesday evening, Rabbi Meir Borenstein, Chabad Center of Orange County led the menorah lighting (now in its 13th
year) held by Goshen to celebrate Chanukah.
RABBI BORENSTEIN SAID: "The holiday of Hanukkah, as we know, add a light each night. It's
not just one night, it's eight nights straight, because a holiday teaches us
that in goodness, there's not limit, every day, every time we spent with our
families, we're adding goodness and kindness to each other." Nice thought, we need more of that.
Take a look at the video and tell your Auntie WHO was not
there. The Village of Goshen was represented by its Mayor; the Town of Goshen
was represented by a Town Councilman and the State of NY was represented by its
local State Assemblyman. The County was represented by….by…hummn, not OC
Executive Steven Chuckles Neuhas, not even the Deputy County Executive (what was
his name?) oh yes, Wayne Booth, (where is he BTW?). The County of Orange was
represented by…wait for it…Josh Sommers of “Focus
Media, Inc. – the Hudson Valley’s largest and award-winning, full-service
public relations and marketing firm.
“Are you kidding?” Unfortunately, NO.
Josh Sommers is NOT an elected official, NOT appointed official
and does not serve the County in any capacity other than being a paid vendor
who does the PR work for the County. He is also the one who runs Steve’s
various campaigns (Political, Issue oriented etc.) (Perhaps, this is why Steve’s
reign and that of Team Orange appears to be one publicity stunt after another.)
Two things are very wrong with this. One, as a paid Vendor
for the county, was he PAID to appear on behalf of the County Executive at this
event? (Appearance of impropriety)
Two, Since Josh was introduced at this event as “a close
friend of the County Executive” and he is a paid vendor, does that mean that
FOS (Friends of Steve) are given preference in county contracts? (conflict of
interest).
The Rabbi, being a nice guy, probably would not say anything
even if he was insulted.
We need to find out who really IS behind the big screen in
the Royal Palace of Oc. Is it someone with business interests only and not the
interests of Orange County residents? Is it a Labor Union Leader who lives in
ULSTER County and only see Orange County as a place to make money and create
JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!, even to the detriment of the OC residents? Is it
someone else putting forth their own agenda and not the agenda of the people?
Odds are it is NOT Steve.
Maybe next year, Steve can send Todd D’orio to represent
him.
