Post-Election Patter

Dear Nieces and Nephews,

Now that the dust has settled and the official election results are in, Auntie and the Team give you the following recap of some of the more interesting results.

King George (Green) will continue his reign in the Town of New Windsor his crown firmly placed atop his head. He trounced his opponent, the democratic candidate in this recent attempt by the Dems for control!

Let’s hope his close association with CARMEN DUBALDI does not hinder any future political ambitions.

Kudos to Senator Larkin for identifying himself as a crime victim due to Carmen allegedly stealing his campaign funds. We speculate that George never spoke of Carmen’s alleged larcenous activities because Carmen never stole from George? And please note that someone actually wrote in Carmen Dubaldi’s name for the supervisor’s spot. Either they thought he would do the job better or it was an attempt at levity.

Danny Depew, the Water Lord, won handily against his opponent of No One in Wallkill.  Among his winning attributes, he is now a billboard maven. Just looking at the billboard on Rt 17 west, just before the Crystal Run exit, we see Danny in Paul Bunyan-like gear. All he needs is Babe, the Big Blue OX. He is pictured with an ax, a large amount of cord wood and implication that he split those logs. If you believe the message Danny, will get ‘er done!

Welcome to another two years of Depewville.

Ralph Caruso lost in Woodbury and, contrary to custom, his submission did not exactly admit defeat. Definitely not a concession letter. his letter to the local paper is as follows:
-

He “worked with the Mayor of Cornwall to organize…”
Mayor Coyne is the one who organized, not Ralph.

“broadened employee management relations” all the way to the Village Government, who now has responsibility of the majority of the municipal employees.

“Approved litigation…” by a majority vote of the Town Board, the Supervisor alone does not have the power to approve such litigation on his own.

Re Projects: Ralph, the Town Government is not responsible for roads, you should know that.  New Town Hall? Now that's funny.

This letter sounds like an admonishment of the voters for not voting for him and an ad for another loser’s campaign. Perhaps the voters of Woodbury, did not have enough information to realize just how wonderful his leadership was/is.

Maybe he is just too good to be true.

In the City of Newburgh, Judy Kennedy beat Jonathan Jacobson, the former County Democratic Chair and Outdoors-man. (judging from his activities while he is outside.) Mayor Kennedy, who lost to Jonathan in the Democratic primary, has a “to-do list” with many improvements for the city; including beautification of Broadway, lowering crime and fixing the sewage spill into the Hudson. Let’s hope she is going to include the clean-up of the contaminated property on Broadway, the former choice of location for the OC Community College. She should request an investigation from the EPA and DEC, into the asbestos, oil tanks, and lead content in the debris from the demolished building at this location.

Auntie has been advised by a number of people that the site is very toxic.

Don’t ever say your vote doesn’t count. With the abysmal voter turnout in this non- presidential year election, political careers such as those in New Windsor are made with the help of a few.*

Shame on you, those who did not vote.

*For Example, there are over 14,285 registered voters in New Windsor alone. George won with 2023 votes. Less than 15% of the registered voters in a Town with a population of over 25,000, voted for him.
