Dear Nieces and Nephews

Preet Bharara is not finished with NYS government. He looking at another of Andrew Cuomo's agencies, Homes and Community Renewal (the affordable housing agency) which, surprisingly involves development projects and developers!

It is interesting to note that the agency initially refused to release information requested by the Albany Times Union via FOIL. It  is basically the same information (re:COR Development) requested by Mr. Bharara's office .

Imagine a NYS agency not releasing public records!

King Cuomo thinks that he is immune.

He is not.

Preet will follow the money.

And Preet will then follow the links to Orange County, like a hound dog that will not lego of the scent.

Auntie and the Team can't wait.

Just like our dear nieces and nephews, we want to at least "put a dent" in the corruption in NYS and Orange County.

It will never go away all together; that's where that "eternal vigilance" comes into play.

The Re-election Campaign of Karlapolooza

Dear Nieces and Nephews

The 98^th NYS Assembly District election is proving to be very interesting. We have 2 candidates facing off in the Primary on Democratic Party side and the incumbent Karl Brabenec (FOS) is facing fellow Republican John Allegro, also a board member of United Monroe.

United Monroe is proving to be quite the political force, one that is united in opposition to the unfair and illegal practices of the government of the Village of Kiryas Joel. (Aunties opinion is that they are not necessarily “Anti-KJ” but more “Pro equal treatment” of all of the municipalities in New York. That means no special treatment for anyone in the form of loosening requirements to obtain funding, grants, financing and no special considerations in the courts or with the Board of Education et al.)

So Karl, along with his buddy Steve Neuhaus, County Executive non-extraordinaire, are counting on that weird quirk in NYS politics whereby the incumbent, no matter how bad, is usually re-elected.

But wait! He is being challenged on his Republican Party line, by that upstart not one-of-the- good-ol”-boys, John Allegro.

Hummmmn…What does Karl do? He enlists the services of the enforcers of the State Assembly Republican Committee, (RAC -Right and Always Correct) and they send their troops to Orange County to steal the United Monroe Party line (via petitions) from John Allegro, the endorsed candidate! Karl, who doesn’t even know what the word annexation means, who sponsored obviously flawed legislation to placate his constituents (“See, I’m doing something”) and who appears to be as smart as a monocot, apparently was successful in wresting this party line from his competitor!

No, Sireee, bub! Karl wasn’t caught napping.

  

At least, not this time.

And besides, if he loses this time, he will just switch parties:
