More Lego Laughs

It seems that Legoland - Merlin Entertainments here and in the UK has a standard reaction to environmental objections from the public and even other elected/appointed officials: ignore them!
“A planning report by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead recommended that councillors refuse the application, citing the visitor accommodation plan on green belt land was "inappropriate" and would "result in a significant visual intrusion".”
Area residents, (also known as people) have concerns about noise pollution and traffic with the expansion of the Legoland Windsor site. Legoland apparently does not.
A Legoland spokeswoman said: "We want to thank all the residents, staff and local businesses who have supported us on this journey over the past two years.”
No mention of the environmental issues.
Environmental and historic concerns are significant in Goshen, as well. For example:
Indicating NY State and Federal wetlands, rare plants and animals, unique geological features and more.
“…will have an impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures.”
Merlin, In reaction to the Goshen Legoland approval had Nick and Phil issue statements:
“Legoland New York will be Merlin’s biggest-ever single investment,” said Nick Varney, the CEO of Merlin Entertainments, the British-based, American-owned developer of Legoland.
But the Merlin representative for Legoland Goshen, Phil Royle takes it a step further, expressing the financial glee of Merlin Entertainments:
“This is a big deal, this is a good thing for us,” said Phil Royle, Legoland’s community relations head, after Thursday’s vote.
Again, no mention of the environmental issues. And please do not be naive, they WILL expand into the "buffer zone" as they have expanded every site they own or operate.
Nick Varney SAID: “…our aim is to be the best neighbor we possibly can be.””
Merlin Entertainments, in order to ignore these environmental concerns, has a mantra that all employees use: “mon-ey, mon-ey, mon-ey…” $$$
Merlin Entertainments does not seem to be a good corporate neighbor, during the approval process.

“LEGOLAND Windsor regrets that refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. If you come prepared you will still have a great day!”
To add insult to injury, you may buy a rain poncho.
If this is Legoland’s policy, don't they have a moral obligation to be CLOSED on days when their outside attractions are shut down for the day? A partial refund at least? Maybe, but they have more important,corporate obligations. They do not want to lose any potential earnings. And they must make up for the fact that in Goshen, they will be CLOSED for a few MONTHS out of the year.
NO REFUNDS! This is what they must do when they establish outdoor parks in rainy countries or areas with severe winter storms or high snow accumulation or both.
Imagine this: A hurricane is “scheduled” to make it’s appearance in Orange County on a Tuesday and Legoland is opened on Monday. Oh no! to everyone’s chagrin, the Hurricane, (lets call it this for fun) Hurricane Maureen, arrives in Goshen on Monday!
Legoland will be open, not giving refunds and they will have thousands of “guests” inside the park during a hurricane!
A state of emergency will be declared and NO ONE will be allowed on the roads. What do they do at that point? Well, if you are Legoland, you will charge the "guests" for a rain poncho, charge them for food and for a beach towel on which to sleep, since they will be “guests” for the next few nights. If the winds die down a bit, the park-goers can slide across former bio-diverse land to the hotel (now filled to capacity) and, if they are not swept up by the run-off, they can sleep in the hotels’ kitchen with their soggy beach towel and eat food that falls to the floor, if and only IF the chef allows the staff to drop any. And Legoland will probably charge them for the experience of sliding across the paved over, former bio-diverse land as if it were another "ride".
Maybe they can have the “guests” build beds out of lego bricks. That’ll keep ‘em busy and further enhance their Lego experience!!! And Legoland may even charge for that too.
There will be no worry about water, the “guests” can just stick their head out of a window with their mouths open and quench their thirst with the fresh nectar of Hurricane Maureen!
Auntie has heard a rumor that Merlin Entertainments will open a theme park in the Bermuda Triangle to further expand this type of experience. What fun!
Steve, exactly why did you want this in Goshen? For the seasonal and part-time jobs? Maureen, is this truly AWESOME?
On closer look, it seems as if Steve is pinching Liberty’s bum. Maybe that explains her expression.
