Silly, silly officials!!! Arrogance or Ignorance?

Dear Nieces and Nephews, it is with dismay that Auntie draws your attention to the actions of our county government in relation to the LDC formed to sell Valley View. First, Auntie and the team hope that that Harvard Graduate is not just "blowing smoke" with his promises to fight this outrageous violation of the law, good government and the people's wishes.

We refer to the recent edition of the Chronicle (which is refreshingly not all-neuhaus-all-the-time, and we hope it lasts!) which informs our nieces and nephews of the upcoming LDC board meeting, DESPITE A COURT DECISION making the entity NULL AND VOID. Not only does this fly in the face of the State Supreme Court, it goes against any reasonableness one could muster in this County of Orange. And in that vein, we hear from Dain.

DAIN SAID:
"The LDC can choose to review these offers and recommend to the legislature that they vote again on this matter, or the LDC can take no action until the court appeal is completed. My goal, however, remains the same: balance the county budget, provide essential services that only government can, and do so in a manner which is affordable to our taxpayers."

This is like saying: "Your Mom can choose to go to the grocery store or do nothing; my goal remains the same: to ride an elephant, wash it's ears, rent a 1940's maharaja outfit and provide the comedy that only a goofball can."

And the phrase "My goal" is interesting. Tell us, Dain, were you speaking for Steve or is it really your (Dain's) goal.

Repeat, repeat, repeat until it becomes the truth.
Deflect, deflect deflect back to your talking points!
This is the way things are done in the Neuhaus Club.

And the hilarity continues with Paulie Ernenwien Attorney at law from the firm of Catania, Mahon, Milligram & Rider, PLLC in Newburgh NY  pernenwein@cmmrlegal.com and Chair of the Orange Valley View LDC
.

From the Chronicle:

Ernenwein said the LDC plans to meet again next Tuesday at the Orange County 911 Center. He said the group needs to decide which companies it wants to interview, and that the group's work should continue.

PAUL ERNENWIEN SAID:"These are some very good, decent people who have invested their time,"

OH BOY! ARE YOU IN A BUBBLE!!! To ignore a court decision because some business people have invested time is either arrogant or just ignorant!!! And Paulie, dear, your firm really can't withstand any more negative publicity right now, considering the disbarment of one of your recently retired senior partners, (due, maybe, to his arrogance?)

Imagine the firm’s reputation IF people were saying things like:  "Oh, that firm! The one in Newburgh with the arrogant attorneys who don't obey the law!"

And the third act in this little play is Paul Ruszkiewicz, OC legislator from Pine Island who campaigned on keeping Valley View in county hands.

PAUL SAID: "I am committed to working to keep Valley View Nursing home open as a county-run facility as long as it is financially feasible, which I believe it is."
Off course, that statement give him a way out since he can just say that he now believes it is no longer feasible.

It is amazing just how many of the legislators campaigned on keeping Valley View in county hands. They realized it was important enough to get elected, so why does it seem so many are changing their mind now? What incentive could they possibly have to do so?

We need to look into things a bit deeper...

And these three don't even earn a Rat, they are:
